LACKING CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!

Went to Skegness Tesco to collect currency, kiosk all lit up but no attendant around or a sign to say when back!! Was told she's on lunch and will be back later! LATER?? Couldn't tell me when! Phoned the helpline to cancel and they had the cheek to want to charge me a £10 cancellation fee, hence they didn't after I argued successfully. The rate isn't even that good with your clubcard, TUI give a higher rate! Reviewed on: 27th February 2025

Absolute Rip Off

Before you deal with Tesco Holiday Money, Check their Buy Back Rates. Paid £250 foe Bulgarian Lev, their Buy Back offer was only £192. Not Good. Reviewed on: 11th July 2023

Keep away from ordering online

I ordered 1200 in euros and I got 800 in 100 euro notes which I struggled to use as no place would take them definitely not recommend to get your euros online. Then when I got back for tesco to buy them back I would lose £114 Reviewed on: 30th May 2023

BEST EUROS EXCHANGE RATE & A 5* SERVICE!!

Tesco had the best Euros exchange rate I could find online, the online ordering service was simple & the Euros were deliivered soon after, with a good range of notes. NO PROBS WHATSOVER - WHAT'S NOT TO LIKE?!!! Reviewed on: 13th May 2023

Avoid Tesco prepaid travel money card

Avoid the cashpassport card. What a shambles. Obtained it in the store, added Euros to it and told to login and register the card when I got home. However, I couldn't log in, it wouldn't remember any password either, so had to call their helpline. They couldn't assist me either despite several attempts so was stuck with an unworkable card online. Had no choice but to get to a Tesco, cash it in (of course, the buy back rate is a good 32 cent more than I obtained the Euros for) ended up £40 out of pocket but at least have the majority of my funds back unlike some of the reviewers on here. Moral of the story - don't bother with travel cards from Tesco. It's cheaper to use your own debit cards even with transaction fees. Or just get cash from some place with a better reputation. SCAM! THE WOMAN IN THE EXCHANGE CABIN STOLE OUR MONEY

SCAM! We wanted to exchange our Scottish Pounds for Euro, but the woman in the exchange cabin confiscated our money "for review" without calling the police! Also, she asked us about our plans and figured out we were foreigners. She thought that we weren't coming back to the UK. I guess she thought we could be fooled without consequences. That's why she didn't get our money back!!! It was in Newcastle (Tesco, North Shields NE29 7UJ), about a week ago. Reviewed on: 21st March 2023

Untrustworthy

I bought almost £500 of currency online from Tesco, I cancelled the order the same day as per their own terms and conditions. I was told it would be 2-10 business days before it could be returned, that in itself is a disgrace as they take your money immediately, why cannot they return it immediately? 10 business days later it still has not been returned. They still have my money, and are no doubt making interest on it. Shameful behaviour. Reviewed on: 23rd January 2023

Bad Service Awful Communication

They failed to deliver the money I ordered on time. When I chased their systems were down and had no idea where the money was. Lisa Moyses the manager looking into my complaint was rude, unhelpful and unprofessional in dealing with my complaint. Reviewed on: 19th December 2022

Total lack of communication, No excuse

Was told that my currency would be available for collection after 3 PM from store, Went to store collect at the agreed date and just after the agreed time, and my currency was not available for collection as it had not arrived, The shop assistant Informed me that she had no idea when it was going to turn up. My contact details are on the order form, to save me wasting my time someone could have contact me and saved me my time and the journey. Bureau unattended

Attended tesco Orpington travel bureau - unattended. Went home , tried to order on line - their website crashed. Tried ringing the number provided - no answer. Went back to the Orpington store some 3 hours later - bureau unattended again , despite it still being well within opening times. Pretty poor way to run a service. Reviewed on: 6th October 2022

Don't use !! Money wasn't ready when it said it would be!

Same story as a lot of reviews (I should have checked before) short story…currency wasn’t ready on time and refund takes upto 10 days, staff on customer service line had no sympathy. Longer story…ordered currency for click n collect the following day, which I thought was impressive service at the time, because the website DOES state it can take upto 3 days for currency to be ready for collection…so when it allowed me to select the following day for my collection I thought great ! And when the confirmation email also stated I could collect from my nominated store the following day after 3pm I thought wow perfect! I was at the Tesco store at 5pm and the lady on the Customer Service desk was soooo apologetic and said it happens all the time…the courier hasn’t made a delivery that day and that there were actually 5 other currency orders due in that day; sure enough 2mins later another lady arrived hoping to collect her currency. The Customer Service lady rang the TravelEx line and explained the situation, put me on the line, he had no sympathy and just reiterated to me that the website states it can take upto 3 days haha that’s all well and good but if the website allows you to select the following day AND the confirmation email states the same then what are customers meant to do? Just turn up each day for the next 3 days to see if it’s turned up yet?? I was travelling that evening so I asked him to cancel & refund my order so I could go and get the currency elsewhere (local Post Office was open late so I did it there), to be told it could take upto 10 days to be refunded! And that’s AFTER the currency has been received back at the TravelEx office which can be 3-4 days. Luckily I was only going away for a wknd so wasn’t changing THAT much money, but imagine if you were changing a lot for a 2wk holiday and then didn’t have any spare funds to get currenty from elsewhere whilst waiting for your refund! I said I’d like a Manager to call me back so I could make a complaint, and to my surprise the Manager Janette did! But of course, she can only work within the perameters that are set for her, which are of course set by some idiot management team higher than her who have decided to have a poor process in place which is completely unreliable and not user friendly, and as it shows in the reviews…don’t look to be changing any time soon! SO, I won’t be using them again and will be warning all my friends not to also. Reviewed on: 17th August 2022
