Great Customer Service for savings

I had a query about opening a new savings account so rang Customer Service. Amazed to be put through very quickly. My query was dealt with by Aimee in a very efficient and friendly way. Family Building Society was a "no brainer" .

Set up Family Building Society account yesterday, was very easy to follow instructions. The first deposit of £100 immediately showed up on my new account which was very reassuring , just used my bank card. Once I had been verified and sent the secure code which was emailed to me, all account features were available including withdrawing money. Really impressed with the security checks as I don't want anyone else to get my money! Have transferred most of current account money , even "rainy day money" as my bank only offers 0.1% on my current account. So being with the Family Building Society is a "no brainer" at 5.04%! Had a query today and requested a "call back" and Jacob rang me a few hours later, brilliant customer service. I can't even ring my bank these days. Good customer service & competitive interest rates.

I opened a savings account with the Family Building Society as it is a name I know and the interest rate was quite good. Since then, the interest rate has risen and is now even more competitive, so they score well on value for money and competitiveness. However it is in the area of Customer Service that they score highly, being both very friendly and also very helpful. I spoke to Aaron today and he was able to deal with my questions quickly and knowledgably. The online presence of The Family Building Society makes it accessible to anyone, wherever they are, but they also have branches in Surrey and I would guess the personal service for those who can get to the branches will be no less rewarding than my telephone interaction today with Aaron. Great people, excellent rate, dreadful on-line processes.

Love the Family BS but it's IT systems are so far behind other financial services. Withdraws on my smartphone (Pixel4a) are a nightmare. Withdrawals are not Fast Pay and take ages if there is weekend or a public holiday involved. Reviewed on: 29th December 2023

We are always looking at ways in which we can improve our service to customers and we are currently looking at solutions in this regard. As we’re not a direct member of the clearing system, we access payment services through our bank, and the withdrawal timescales are clearly set out in the information we provide. Great find and quick response

Great place to find information and to open competitive savings account but is needing a revamp of website or app to make it more useable without finding a PC. Also for some reason the about me page only mentions that they serve England and Wales … I can assure you as a Scottish customer this is not the case. Reviewed on: 28th December 2023

Famility Building Soceity just makes it so easy!

When our fixed 1 year savings period was up in November 2023, we looked at alternatives for our investments. Famility Building Soceity were offering very competitive rates specifically for existing customers like ourselves. We found the flexibility of several fixed saving periods with various rates really helpful in terms of our decision making. We chose 18 months, which was most convenient in terms of our medium term financial planning. One simple phone call to Nicole on the 6th of November answered a few questions, just to ensure we had correctly understood the terms and conditions. Nicole was most attentive, listened to us carefully and was empathetic to our needs. Nicole offered us the option of completing the transaction on the phone or in writing - we chose the latter since we prefer that where financial matters are involved. Overall we have found Family Building Society an excellent organisation to invest with, and we appreciate their loyalty to us as a customer - something we don't take for granted.
