Tom Walton was very polite and helpful to my need. He was very reassuring as he gave me another option that I could take since I was worried about posting my application during the postal strike service. It was so refreshing to speak to someone so helpful and not trying to get rid of me as it was the end of the day when I called the branch and he came across as if he had all the time in the world for me. I sent four items for additional I.D. requirements by first class post and received the most unhelpful shoddy response saying that none of it was acceptable, which was totally inaccurate. Most decent up to date institutions are satisfied with electronic checks, many of whom I have invested with over two decades, do not have such old fashioned tringent requirements.So do not waste your time, as I did, and go elsewhere. They are the most unhelpful ignorant bunch of time wasters I have ever had the unfortunate experience to come across. Reviewed on: 16th November 2022

If these do not meet our requirements, we will ask you to send us original or certified copies of the documents we require, and they must be certified as advised. To slow unless it suits them

Building society is way to slow to raise interest rates inline with the Bank of England, though matches the Bank of England when the rates are reduced. Bit stingy! Reviewed on: 16th November 2022

In view of our size, we are price-takers in both the mortgage and savings market, and we have to balance the demand from savers for higher rates, against our ability to earn higher rates from our borrowers. Almost impossible to open an account! Old fashioned

almost impossible to open an account. Old fashioned and time consuming having to send ID backwards and forwards in the post even though they have checked the applicant and opened an account only to them 'not liking' the certified ID and asking for another! Unbelievable how this cant be uploaded on line! Its 2022 not 1902... Wasting customers time and getting them to jump through hoops and then writing letters saying youve got 5 days to re certify ID or we shut the account and youll have to start all over!
