Vanquis offer a balance transfer and purchase credit card.

Vanquis offer 0% for purchases and balance transfers for a set period of time. You will be charged a fee for any balance transfers. When the offer period on the card ends, any outstanding balance will be charged at a standard variable interest rate.

A great help

They are very helpful in maintaining a good credit history. When I've had an issue with a payment they've listened, advised and helped me out with repayment plans. Wholly recommend! Reviewed on: 19th May 2016

Good for building your credit rating but high interest

I got a Vanquis card to build my credit as I had a poor rating due to getting into debt in my younger years. I have found it good for credit rating building - as long as you make your payments on time there is no problem, and they increase you credit balance every now and then too! But, the interest rates are high - obviously this is because you are classed as "high risk" because of poor credit rating and this is something you have to swallow if you want to rebuild you credit. But if you can spend on the card and repay it in full every month then you don't get charged any interest anyway, so this is a sensible way to do it. The E-Vanquis online facility is easy to use to make payments and keep on top of your spending, easy to navigate etc. I have found Vanquis easy to communicate with and a pleasant experience so far. high interest rates, bad customer service

Good for poor credit, otherwise avoid

I got this credit card to boost my credit rating as I had been previously refused another card. It worked and after using this for a year, my credit rating improved significantly, so I was able to get a better credit card easily. If that is what you want, then it does the job, but be warned they constantly call and send irritating text messages. I don't ever give out my personal details over the phone unless I make the call. Vanquis constantly call and ask for personal details, but without giving anyway to confirm that they are who they say they are. The customer service over the phone is a joke, they never know anything. avoid them unless you really have poor credit and need to start to improve it. Reviewed on: 28th March 2016

High APR but great customer service

I can't fault the customer service I received when taking out the card. Friendly and helpful, prompt to call back when requested and good advice on setting up and managing my account online. The APR is high, but this is because they consider customers with a poor credit rating, and provided you pay back within the interest free period it shouldn't be an issue. A good product but shoddy customer service

The product itself is not bad. The APR is quite high but I knew this getting into the agreement. However when I got into some financial difficulty, I had to play the most ridiculous game of cat and mouse trying to get hold of someone, only for them to never return my calls, or call back with no prior knowledge of what our discussion had entailed. Complaints are VERY slowly resolved although gestures of goodwill are often given to make up for the wait. Reviewed on: 28th March 2016

Low credit limit but overall great

Confusing website and regular sales calls

I found it really difficult to get the basic information from the website - how much I need to pay, by what date, and what the interest would be if I didn't. I've had to set up a direct debit to automate the payment as a couple of times I've paid off the balance when I received a statement, then used the card again a couple of weeks later thinking it'd appear on the next month's statement, but incurred interest. I don't know what the sales calls are about as I never pick up, but from other's online experience I know they're regular enough to be annoying. Reviewed on: 10th August 2015
