Don't always believe

Money tooken for house valuation and it is our fault that we didn't wait for the answer first. But customer advisor was saying "no need to woried all should be okay, all looks good". Declined because of that there is gaps for last 4 years working (it is not true). Money for deposit are from student finance (Not true as well). Not even given a chance to prove that that it is not true. "You are in risk beacuse of Covid-19". So why giving a hope.. I do not recommended Reviewed on: 16th July 2020

Helpful, friendly and responsive

I was looking for additional funds for building work at home. The staff at the Vernon are really helpful and very responsive, and they made the whole process simple. The options I had for different products were clearly described, and the documentation was clear. It was also good to be dealing with the same person all the way through, rather than getting "whoever answers the phone" which is what happens in a call centre environment - it made everything a lot easier. Self build mortgage

Unusual old-fashioned personal service

I have had a mortgage with Vernon BS since around mid 1980's and the ethos of individual care and consideration has not changed but remained excellent throughout. There are cheaper mortgages out there but to those lenders you are just a number and if anything goes amiss in life, you are stumped. The Vernon, and it's consistently helpful staff have without exception, offered a human service in a world where people are often just a target on a computer. Reviewed on: 21st February 2020

Further Advance

We needed a further advance to renew our Kitchen. We were very impressed with the thorough nature that the team undertook to ensure affordability but also to ensure that the funds were made in good time for us to get the job done. Excellent customer care all round as it has been for over 20 years now. Reviewed on: 27th January 2020
