Very helpful.

Both myself and my wife are past retirement age. We needed to move out interest only mortgage as our high street lender was being difficult. At our age getting a mortgage can be difficult to find. Our IFA approached Vernon and we received an offer. Yes the criteria and questions are thorough. But we did receive an offer which we accepted. Brilliant outcome for us! Self build mortgage

Our financial advisor suggested the Vernon as a lender who would work with us on a specialist self build application. His advise proved to be good. Although there were a couple of delays along the way, we ultimately were satisfied with the process and funds were made available at an appropriate stage. Whoever we spoke to within the Vernon knew who we were and we didn't get lost in the system as happens with the large banks / lenders. Reviewed on: 3rd October 2019

Excellent service

Couldn't of asked for a better service for our mortgage for our 1st home. Lucy was amazing she was there when ever we needed :) also maureen and the rest of the team were great also. Really recommend the service. Reviewed on: 17th September 2019

Fantastic Service

Great service which despite loads of issues from the broker Rosie and Jessica at Vernon in particular took ownership of the issues to resolve with our solicitor. What was a very stressful time was help to resolution by the caring and family feel of the company. Would highly recommend and loved our welcome to your home box. A more personalised service from a building society

Vernon building society provided me with a mortgage and took into account my personal circumstances rather than many larger building societies basic tick box judgements. The service was excellent and efficient and I even received a lovely welcome hamper when I moved into my new home! Reviewed on: 3rd September 2019

First Class

Had a great experience as a first time buyer, from opening up my ISA through to my initial enquiries and then all the paperwork. All staff in branch and head office happy to help. My mortgage advisor, Enam was great too and amiable, easy to speak to gentleman. Reviewed on: 2nd September 2019

Very difficult to deal with

I found the company very difficult to deal with, I had to jump through so many hoops, that I felt I was a circus lion. Of the many mortgages I have dealt with over the years, being a property investor, this was by far the most difficult one to date. Reviewed on: 2nd September 2019

Surperb customer service!

As with most mortgages but especially with a self-build, the lead up to completion can be very stressful. Although obtained via Buildstore, I had reason to chase various aspects directly with the Vernon to make sure the completion date was met. I could not have found more helpful or willing people to help get things over the line. Rosie and Dan were exemplars of customer service and made my priority their priority to ensure all was in place to meet my target date. It was great to find an organisation who are clearly focussed on the customer not just meeting a monthly target so it made my experience a very positive one. I would happily recommend the The Vernon to anyone seeking a self build mortgage. PS. The Vernon's "welcome to your home" hamper was a lovely touch packed full of goodies to relax with - just great.
