The staff at the Stockport branch were very friendly...

The staff at the Stockport branch were very friendly and helpful. They sorted out a new passbook for me and then transferred my money into a Cash ISA, quickly and efficiently. I was, however, very disappointed that the account I had forgotten about for over 10 years, had substantial funds in and did not receive any interest. I do not understand why this happened or why the Vernon did not contact me in all this time to inform me that my money was not receiving any interest. Could you please explain this to me? Great customer service

Vernon has some excellent savings products and I’ve been happy to be a member for 10 years. My only frustration is that I continually have difficulties logging into their website and getting locked out - though their customer service reps are always very friendly in helping me sort it out! With regards to your comment about the second account, I assume that you've opened our Online Regular Saver account? If so, this has to have a linked Easy Access account because, after 12 months, all but £1 of the regular savings will be transferred into it. You can then carry on paying your regular monthly payment into the regular saver. Helpful and in-person contact

They have been helpful on the phone and still have real branches where you can talk to someone face-to-face. Good rate of interest too. Reviewed on: 4th March 2025

Good local branch

There are plenty of accessible branches where you can actually speak to a real person. Every time I have used this branch the staff are very helpful and courteous. The savings rates are very reasonable and they support a lot of local charities and causes with the profits. They provide jobs for local people and make it easy for older people to visit regulary.
