Mortgage Team Don't Care About Customers

It took 58 minutes if waiting for me to speak with the mortgage team. Yesterday I tried their call back service. I received a text at 10:45am confirming someone will call me in about 60 minutes. I received a call at 12:00 I quickly clicked answer and put the phone against my ear, and said Hello, and the phone call was ended. Terrible customer experience. This is the last time I mortgage with them, in future I will be looking at other mortgage providers. Reviewed on: 26th July 2021

Massively under valued house leading to high LTV

We went through the mortgage applicatipn with virgin was quite please with a great deal on offer LTV and interest rate good we already live in our house and were looking to swap provider to get a better deal. However when it came down to the valuation apparently they do it all electronically and was told computer says price and its got to be right theres nothing we can do....now the value compared to our current mortage company was over 40000 difference and I have no idea how they work the figure out electronically either as house prices in the area did not reflect there value. Therefore they put us on a higher LTV higher interest rate which just defeated why we was looking to move. Therefore we stayed with our current company as with a higher interest rate it wasn't worth it to move. I would AVOID...they lure you in with good deals but really twist it anyway they can to try benefit the company and push you on a rubbish deal. Reviewed on: 20th June 2021

Terrible service..Avoid!!

I’m absolutely disgusted with the service I received from virgin money, i have been with years now and use other products but recently we have tried to purchase a new house and paid £275-£280 for the valuation fee after a few weeks we was told we couldn’t borrow the money due to the house being over valued so we investigated further and found that they didn’t even send an agent out to the property but done it over the internet this is an absolutely shocking as we have now lost are dream house and we have since asked multiple times for them to visit the property as we and the agents believe that the valuation from virgin was over harsh, since the emails they will not go and view the property so we now have to move mortgage lender to get the money, £280 for no effort at all!!? I won’t be ever using virgin money again and will be telling everyone to avoid them at all costs. Reviewed on: 10th June 2021

Mortgage Application Delay

We have been waiting well over a month for our application to be processed which has been stuck at the valuation stage. We recently found out Virgin had requested the report from the wrong valuer. This has delayed our application by weeks, lack of communication or apology from Virgin, our seller is growing increasingly impatient and we are having to spend far more time than we should have to trying to push this along. Mortgage - Extremely poor online service / tool

Very limited online tool they have for their clients. It is very basic tool with no monthly breakdowns, no confirmation of over payments visible, no mobile app to be able to use etc. We did not have any issue with the mortgage as such but the online tool should be much more advances especially having most people working from home these days and phone lines being so busy (really hard get through customer service these days). 90 LTV Mortgage during Sept 2020

In a world of little to no high LTV mortgages, Virgin provided a good rate, few restrictions when buying a house and a speedy/professional service. I particular like the process of vetting you during AIP with one full credit check which then speeds up the main mortgage application.
