Review of the Vitality, Health Insurance:

Avoid at all cost, better Health Companies out there!!

My Company decided to give it a go and enroll this year with Vitality, for the past 15 years we used mainly Axa ppp and other providers such Bupa. These big companies are expensive however they take the stress away in terms of approving claims or consultations. Never had problems in the past. Unfortunately for me Vitality so far only offered a poor service. As other reviewers mentioned the amount informations requested plus involving GP on obtain records only elongate the process; reason why people use Private health insurance is to actually avoid these long wait to see a GP and been referred as soon as possible.Just so you know if you ask your Gp to fill up the records forms it will take up to 4 weeks and also you have to pay a fee to your surgery. So you might be quicker booking an appointment with your Gp than fill these forms !!! The frustrating part is the fact we took the full package from vitality and covering also existing condition however at the time of the switch you must forecast if you might have present conditions that might develop into something that requires additional consultations, basically they will do everything in their power to avoid claims!! So to everyone thinking to switch to Vitality ]bear in mind that you might encounter issue when making a claim. By the way my referral was approved by Vitality online GP and still wants more informations by my Gp, Definitely no worth the stress on taking a cheaper Company which only interest is on saving money. 2 Odeon cinema voucher codes have not worked. Contacting Vitality customer support is the most frustrating experience ever. I have sent countless messages and they act like they don't understand my simple query. When giving them the message references they give me, for some reason this is not enough for them to know who I am or what my query is about. Reviewed on: 29th September 2023

Shockingly bad, even for an insurance company

Vitality will do everything they can to delay your claim. Maybe they think if they continuously delay you will get fed up and use the NHS instead. Delaying tactics they have used: Repeatedly asking for the consultants letter which they have been sent multiple times. Claiming they have never received it despite getting confirmation emails and verbal confirmation that it was received. Asking your consultant to complete an additional form. Asking your GP to complete a form, for which you will have to pay. Promising to call you back but never call. Reviewed on: 29th September 2023

Horrendous company DO NOT USE. Used

Horrendous company DO NOT USE. Used through my work 'benefit' package, and treatment is declined for no reason. Having to follow legal route and reported to FCA poor practise and acting in bad faith. It honestly feels like a scam to make money out of innocent people. will not be using again and have informed my work how atrocious everything about Vitality is. Vitality are only after your money

Amazing health insurance!

Vitality goes above and beyond - not only does it offer good quality health insurance, but it rewards you for exercising and gives you great advice on how to improve both your mental/physical health. It also offers health checks which is fantastic! I love the free Cafe Nero drinks/discounted food and free cinema tickets (plus other benefits). Overall - no complaints! Interesting side benefits which add value

As a health insurance plan it seems to focus on getting people into healthier habits and prevention. But it seems the implementation is not always the best and sometimes feels like it is failing. Overall, they provide decent benefits, including dental. Good side benefits to motivate physical activity. It is quite a software-based (APIs etc) system though and needs a bigger team to improve functionality. Online GP system works well. Health exams easily booked. Not much to complain.
