Review of the 2Gether Insurance, Breakdown cover:

£30 call out fee and £10 cancellation fee of before 14 days cool off period.

I came across this policy on Go Compare, specifically choosing an option with no excess or call-out fees. It was listed at the top and seemed perfect, so I followed the link, answered the questions, and never saw any mention of a £30 call-out fee. The documents arrived, and to my surprise, the call-out fee was the first thing I noticed. I chose to emailed them, given their phone contact number was a premium rate number which set off another alarm bell ringing. I explained the problem and requesting a refund. Their reply stated a £10 cancellation fee. I escalated my reply to a complaint, this was met with the claim that there were warnings about the call-out fee throughout the application, which was not true. I reiterated my request for a refund, stating that prioritizing a £10 fee over customer satisfaction and potential negative feedback seems shortsighted. I define cannot recommend a company run by cow boys that seems to operate in a less-than-honest manner. Reviewed on: 9th November 2023

Didn't provide the service I pay for

Left me, a lone female, stranded in a remote location. I had poor phone signal, but they still wanted to waste time asking me every question imaginable. Eventually the connection was lost, but i had provided what3words location. My policy number and reg have always been enough with other companies. No help came from them. I was stranded for HOURS until finally my daughter realised I was missing and located me using the dog's GPS tracker! Reviewed on: 17th January 2026

Bad customer service.

AVOID, scam policy that I was mis-sold.

AVOID. Scam policy that I was mis-sold. Supposed to be motor trade breakdown cover but it excludes cover for vehicles with no tax so is effectively useless (this is what trade plates are for). Would not assist with recovery. Will be taking this further. Reviewed on: 2nd September 2025

Auto renewed without informing me

Auto renewed my breakdown for 2025/26. Only discovered this when I checked my bank account. Have emailed twice requesting reasons for this but still waiting for a response Reviewed on: 3rd July 2025

Liars and con artists. AVOID

After breaking down, 2gether lied to me about the distance I could be recovered. I didn't have the policy documents on me so I couldn't check. They were insistent I could only be taken to a local garage - even on a Friday evening when the garages were closing. They left me to ring around a load of garages from the roadside but none could inspect the car that day. Under duress I allowed the car to be taken and left outside a random garage over the weekend and I arranged onward travel for myself. I checked my policy wording when I got home and guess what - I'm entitled to nationwide recovery if the car can't be fixed the same working day! I got back in touch with 2gether to ask them to bring the car to a garage local to my home (which is what should've happened in the first place) but they refused because they don't reattend for the same fault!! Having seen other reviews it seems that's their strategy - just drop the car somewhere local regardless of what your policy says. Then it's up to you to get trains etc to get home and pick up your car again once it's fixed. They don't care about the inconvenience to you - keeping costs low is their only concern. Auto-renew

Contrary to the information explicitly published on their website, 2gether insurance auto-renews their policies, so be warned. If this is how they respect their promises in this regard I don't want to find out how they respect all the rest of their promises. I raised the issue with them but so far no response. Incorrect payment

I've been charged a fee from this company who I've never even heard of before!! No previous or ongoing policies with them, therefore no set up direct debits! Very confused and concerned as to how they have retrieved my bank details, and charged me this fee without communicating with me. I have received no posts, emails or phone calls from them. Left me alone in the middle of the night cold and alone couldn't have cared less about my situation and spoke to me in an AWFUL manner. There is a reason this company is cheap, do yourself a favour, pay a bit more and you'll have the piece of mind that you will actually be covered if you breakdown Reviewed on: 24th January 2025
