Everything I could wish for from an insurance provider.

I have been a customer for two years and I am about to renew my insurance for a third year. It offers a full comprehensive coverage which I require, the rate is competitive but fortunately enough I have not had to use their services. They have been reaching out on occasion with promotional offers and I have also taken an year travel insurance at a very good value for money. Reviewed on: 23rd August 2023

Great car insurance

I've been with Admiral for all of my cars since I first got my licence and they have always been good to me. They were brilliant when I had a 'no fault' accident which wrote off my car, I was expecting a battle to get the pay out as that's what you always hear with insurers but there was no push back at all and they paid the full amount quickly. The app is great, super easy to view your documents and I've always been able to speak to a real person when I've phoned about my renewal quote. Easy

Admiral is easy to use and for me has had one of the best comparisons for payment. It has been the cheapest that I found when I was insuring my car as a learner driver and then again as a new driver. It was easy to change my insurance cover and any time I have needed to make adjustments it has been super easy online or over the phone as well. Reviewed on: 23rd August 2023

Good at getting back to you

Fortunately, I never had to make a claim with them but they were pretty good at getting back to me. Unfortunately, their premium went up considerably this year and so I had to go elsewhere. Reviewed on: 23rd August 2023

Price good

Been with admiral a few years. never had to claim on insurance but have used breakdown cover a few times (now via AA). Price is always ok, renewal is easy. No issues. Reviewed on: 23rd August 2023

Does not live up to its name

They must be one of the worst car insurance businesses in the UK. I changed my car from a Honda CRV with a 27 group rating to a Peugeot 2008 with a 14 group rating and my insurance costs rose by over £100 a year. When I queried this they said car grouping was meaningless and they were not prepared to discuss their underwriting secrets with anyone, When I objected again they told me the matter was closed and that if I had an accident then the monthly payments would be cancelled and I would have to pay the remaining installments as a lump sum, The lady was arrogant and had certainly no customer service skills, Reviewed on: 23rd August 2023

Renewals

I have been a customer for home and car insurance many times over the years with Admiral and one thing that really annoys me is the renewal quotes are always really high but when you phone them they then apply discounts you are entitled to. Why not give me the discount straight away and stop trying to overcharge customers. I know many insurance companies do this and it isn't unique to Admiral but it really does annoy me as as I have been a loyal customer. Reviewed on: 23rd August 2023

Awful customer service.

If you are ever in the unfortunate position of needing to make a claim then please prepare yourself for some exceptionally awful customer service. A week later with 2 small children I have no courtesy car and have had to ring Admiral every day for an update only to be told they are sorry and they understand but they will be doing nothing about it. Have made 2 formal complaints in which I was just told it is what it is. I will be one of the 300,000 (reported in the press) leaving at my next renewal and I will be encouraging others to do the same. Also the app is terrible so that is another useless product from a useless company. Don't waste your money or time. Reviewed on: 23rd August 2023
