Machines in Newport branch

I couldn't believe it when I went into the Newport, Gwent branch of Barclays last week, they've replaced all the cashiers with machines ! I consider myself quite computer savvy and it took me quite a while to pay in two cheques, feel very sorry for elderly customers not used to the age of technology. I think they have taken automation a step too far ! Reviewed on: 16th February 2016

Ever improving!

There was a time when I was thinking I'd switch banks, but lately Barclays have stepped up their game. I feel much more in control of my finances, the app enables me to do so many things without jumping onto a computer, and their fraud prevention processes are truly outstanding. I even had experience of a problem with a duplicated physical store transaction, which held funds for a considerable amount of time. After raising an issue someone called me really quickly, followed up with emails and further calls, and the matter was resolved in empathically professionally manner I was not actually expecting. Things inevitably go wrong on occasion and they absolutely seek to resolve them. Needless to say I'm no longer considering switching. Reviewed on: 31st January 2020

Dreadful customer service

I have recently left Barclays after 31 years after my account was hacked and their customer service in handling this situation was dreadful. I spent 14 hours either in the branch or telephoning the bank to try and resolve. Reviewed on: 11th January 2020

Big business bah
