Review of the Barclays, Everyday Saver:

Cannot be trusted with your money

My mum rang them to close her savings account, and have her money transferred to another bank - "Sorry, we can't transfer that much in one go, you'll have to keep ringing us up or go into a branch" (local branch closed 2 years ago). Went into another branch - "You'll have to join a queue and wait, it'll be 1.5 - 2 hours. No you can't make an appointment, we don't do that sort of thing by appointment." Went back to plan A, mum called to transfer money £15k at a time over several days. 1st call 15 mins to get through to a human, call was conveniently cut off just at the point of transferring money. 2nd call 25 mins to get through, operative had no knowledge or record of 1st call, she had to explain everything over again. Payment finally made, but she now faces several more calls exactly the same to get the rest of HER OWN money. Surely the financial regulations of this country do not allow this level of obstruction? I felt very tempted to call the police and report Barclays as scammers. Reviewed on: 15th February 2023

I selected everyday saver I actually have the rainy day saver which is the most competitive product out there with instant access and 5% of £5000 Reviewed on: 4th June 2024

Good service

Not worth it

As with most? Banks, the interest rate is very poor.....failure to pass on the B of E rates! Reviewed on: 24th August 2023

Barclays App

I downloaded the Barclays app but couldn't enable it using my everyday savings account. A member of staff at Barclays tried but concluded it couldn't be done unless you have a barclaycard or credit card. Disappointing. Reviewed on: 7th August 2023

Rainy Day Saver

Nice little saver with 5% interest, with the bonus of being able to access your money without a fee/penalty. Reviewed on: 13th June 2023
