DO NOT GET A MORTGAGE WITH BARCLEYS

If you are thinking about getting a mortgage with Barcleys, DO NOT DO IT. I'm currently in the process of trying to complete on a house, and Barcleys are the reason why its been delayed BY A MONTH. Reason why to AVOID Barcleys: 1. The customer service is so incredibly crap. after waiting 40 minutes on 2 separate occasions to talk to someone about the progress of my mortgage (both on the same day, in the morning). I was told 2 completely different things by 2 different people. The first one told me it was all signed off and all they needed was a the certificate of title from my solicitor. The second one told me that they won't proceed because of the inactive rent charge on the house. BOTH complete wrong, after I spoke to my solicitor. 2. If you have any sort of covenant found in your house searches, Barcleys will make it a nightmare to proceed with the mortgage. All other lenders accept indemnity, Barcleys apparently do not. 3. They're all a bunch of complete morons. Reviewed on: 5th May 2023
