Barclays use discriminatory policies

Terrible customer service

I am an existing Barclays personal customer. I applied for a business bank account in early July and it's now mid August. I had to use chat to speak to 2 agents since I was on hold for 20 mins or more via phone, the first of which assured me my application was successful and that I should receive details by 12th August. However I did not so contacted Barclays again. The 2nd agent told me the 1st agent was wrong and in fact I would receive an answer if successful by end of August. Absolutely disappointed in your customer service. You don't care about your customers so I cancelled my application and went with another bank instead. Reviewed on: 13th August 2020

Time wasters and excuses makers

I have been banking with Barclays for 25 years. The have been average but for the past 6 months they have used any excuse to give zero resolutions. they ask you to bank online and then when it does not work you cannot speak to anybody in online banking. They have 24/7 service which now shuts at 5pm GMT and when you try them during the day you cannot access anybody as their phone typing directions are broken. Their agent in business are to junior to help and the managers are always in meeting. I am about to loose a major deal of 7 figures because I cannot access my money. Horrendous service

Horrendous service. Been on hold for 2 hours 20 mins and gave up. This is the 3rd time this week. All I need is a code to get online banking on a new devise. Something I should be able to do on my app, but no! Can’t even freeze or cancel a bank card on the business app. How can I run a business when I can’t log into my business account? Absolutely disgusting. I shall be seeking compensation. Reviewed on: 29th June 2020

Awful customer service

Since joining Barclays, I've had nothing but trouble. Agents on the chat facility abruptly end the conversation, takes minimum 20 minutes to connect to an agent over the phone AND they decide to convert currencies without me authorizing? Awful - avoid. Reviewed on: 29th June 2020

Fraudulent Barclays

We are a UK Based International VAT compliance Firm who help companies around with world with their VAT compliance. We recently found a number of inbound client payments being withheld by Barclays. We immediately called Barclays to try understand what was going on. Barclays claim one of our clients who sent us a (a small one off payment of 800.00GBP) was being called into question. Barclays claim they tried reaching us Many times in relation to this payment and claim we never got back to them. Because of this one payment they are questioning. Barclays have now for a period of weeks being withholding a number of our inbound Payments from a number of different clients! This is needless to say causing a number of problems for our business and is of course a serious breach of trust from Barclays who are Fraudulently withholding our Payments! I say fraudulently becuase of the following reasons: 1. The one single payment brought into question, they have never given us any valid reason as to why they are questioning this payment in the first place. We are still in the dark, and have made many attempts to get an answer from Barclays. 2. They claim to have contacted us many times in relation to this one payment, however we have checked our emails and can confirm we have not received any email correspondence from Barclays. We can confirm we received no text messages or voicemails either! We also make use of Barclays online banking and banking App and again we confirm that there was no effort made by Barclays to contact us there Either! Barclays claim they posted us 3 separate letters telling us to contact them. Again we can confirm that we never received a single letter from Barclays! (Utter lies from Barclays) 3. We have subsequently contacted the complaints department and logged 2-3 separate complaints, yet we have not heard back from them either over a period of weeks! Has anyone else experience such diabolical behaviour from Barclays Business or Private Banking, where Barclays have laid claim to their money (fraudulently keeping it) without any reason or explanation?! Very concerned about how a Bank such as Barclays can act in such an illegal manner! Please let me know if you have received similar treatment as we have from Barclays.
