Easy to open an account

I was a UK resident but not citizen recently arrived in the UK. I went to several banks to open an account but found them uninterested and unhelpful, except Barclays. Several years later I am still with them. Reviewed on: 15th February 2016

Great but missing Google Pay

Barclays has been a great bank to us, given us a great current account and also provided a fantastic in App service BUT. They use their own payment system which is very frustrating as it's not compatible with Google Pay, although it does with Apple Pay so the Apple watch is compatible. So I had a watch I couldn't use for payment since I moved from Apple device to google. That aside, I also find their customer service centres not good, and they dont even understand Section 75 at Barclay Card and very useless. They need to listen to customers more and take note. I have banked with Barclays for over 20 years and find that they have Excellent Customer Service, easy to resolve any problems (not left holding onto an automated voice for ages). Always polite and eager to help with whatever problems you may have. Opening a savings account is also very easy and set up immediately. Well done Barclays. Reviewed on: 27th January 2019
