Frustrated

I bank with Barclays and another High Stret Bank, but my Barclays Branch transactions are incredibly frustrating. My debit card is chip and signature. Always has been. (Due to health reasons) But this isn't recorded on their system... or at least it wasn't until very recently. So trying to do any counter transaction is very traumatic. Although I go in fairly regularly, my face obviously isn't memorable! So we have to go through a huge identification process! Every single time, whilst huge queues build behind me. There have been instances where I have paid in a large amount of money and then asked to make a tiny payment (a fraction of the amount I have literally just paid in) and I'm put through the massive security check/identity process. The final straw was when they stopped sending my bank statements! I lost count of the number of times I asked the branch to start sending them again (each visit triggered the identity check!) They have started to come through again, after about 7 months of asking!Writing this has made me think I should move my account to the other high street bank, where I never have these problems!! I've got a friend

On Blue Monday I decided to banish depressing thoughts about the weather and book my summer holiday. I contacted the hotel and secured a great discount if I confirmed and paid within a week. Unfortunately they did not have the capability to accept payment by debit card so they emailed me the details and off I went to Woolton Village to see the friendly staff in my local branch. Within minutes the job was done and I was a very happy customer.I have always had excellent service from Barclay's but the best thing about them is having a local branch staffed by lovely people. Amazing

Always friendly customer service and excellent online facilities

On the rare occasions that I have had a problem with Barclays in the last 25 years I have had an account with them, the problem has always been dealt with promptly and efficiently. The introduction of an app on my mobile phone has been brilliant. All my day-to day transactions can be completed in a click of a button.... Including paying in a cheque from another Barclays account...! Couldn't ask for more! Reviewed on: 3rd February 2017

I would thoroughly recommend this bank account due to its versatiliy.

The bank that listens

I have been with Barclays since a very early age and it has mostly been a pleasant experience. My branch in New Milton are always very helpful. The staff listen carefully and try to help when necessary and if they can't they will try and find someone who can. It is always helpful to be able to talk to a member of staff face to face especially when reviewing other financial products/services. I have recommended Barclays to my family and friends and my children have accounts at Barclays. One point to consider, it would be nice if Barclays offered an incentive with student accounts, like a free railcard, as other banks do. Overall though a good experience. Having had bad credit, I am not allowed an overdraft

Great account with fantastic rewards.

Switched my old account to a Barclays banks account. Makes life so much simpler, the app is fantastic, great rewards on selected accounts. My partner even switched his not long after I did. Reviewed on: 31st January 2017
