Can't change your name in any branch.

1
I've been a Barclays customer since I was a teenager, so they've seen me through my GCSEs, university days, buying my first house and now getting married. I popped to my local branch with my wedding certificate to change my name, only to be told that they can't do that in this particular branch. What is the point in having a branch in your village if you can't perform something simple like a name change? Reviewed on: 25th August 2015

helpful customer service.

First of all the call centre staff are always very helpful although it is not always easy to understand what they are saying. Online banking is smooth and easy. The one downside is the charge for unpaid transactions. £8 for already being skint! Harsh when it costs only a fraction of that for them. Reviewed on: 14th August 2015

Great in theory but totally unreliable.........

I switched to Barclays from HSBC because I preferred to use Barclays brilliant app. I demoed the app and loved it for its simplicity and the fact I could get it on Windows phone and iPad. Unfortunately the grass isn't always greener. The app rarely works and is riddled with bugs. Barclays seems to try hard but the reality is that it's a frustrating account to use. I think it would be the best account out there is they got it working like it is supposed to. Reviewed on: 13th August 2015

Excellent customer service, great staff in branch

I have a first additions account with Barclays which is good for those wishing to pay an account fee for benefits. The first additions account comes with mobile, laptop and travel insurance (I have also just had my tablet covered by my account). The staff are very helpful and I've found this across the board, whether I ring up, email or visit a branch, the staff are always approachable, knowledgeable of their products and happy to help with any queries. I had an issue with my cash card last year that stopped me from withdrawing funds from my account, the team at my local Barclays branch dealt with it swiftly and enabled me to continue my day to day activities and purchasing whilst they resolved the issue. 10/10. I have always found Barclays to be helpful and considerate

I have an online current account with Barclays and find it very easy to manage with the help of their card reader. I do not have to rely on texts for payment authorisation which has been a problem for me living in an area with no mobile signal. I can do practically all my banking online with no hassle, 24 hours per day and no queueing! Reviewed on: 29th April 2015

fine but not v proactive

They are fundamentally fine but seem v unproactive when it comes to providing financial assistance. When i put in £50, 000 to my account from the sale of a flat, no one bothered to suggest putting it into a high earner account or indeed anything similar, other banks would jump to it.
