Easy to open an account

I was a UK resident but not citizen recently arrived in the UK. I went to several banks to open an account but found them uninterested and unhelpful, except Barclays. Several years later I am still with them. Reviewed on: 15th February 2016

Money before people

Barclays could not care less about their customers, and a person I know almost commited suicide because of the constant overdraft charges driving him further into debt, here's a radical idea Barclays, instead of sending text messages informing people that you owe more money, why not offer to talk to them to see if you can help. Quick to deal with fraud

I had my bank card cloned and money removed 2 weeks before my holiday. Barclays worked tirelessly and efficiently to make sure that money was back in my account so that our holiday wasn't ruined Reviewed on: 23rd November 2019

Very Responsive

Barclays are trying to be a good bank and they have introduced a fee account, Blue Rewards. It is surprising how quickly they mount up. The current account does not pay any interest, but they do have a range of saving accounts that pay interest. I feel secure when using their online banking and most transactions are quick and easy to complete. If you have a problem on the account, they are quick to respond by phoning you on the numbers your have given. If querying something online, they respond within a matter of days. Could do better

Would have been 5/5 but...

I rarely go to any branch, but had to go to the Dereham Branch today. The service was not particularly customer friendly. Perhaps they need to go on a course? Reviewed on: 22nd November 2019
