Easy to open an account

I was a UK resident but not citizen recently arrived in the UK. I went to several banks to open an account but found them uninterested and unhelpful, except Barclays. Several years later I am still with them. Reviewed on: 15th February 2016

Helpful staff

My bank card was damaged, so I went into a branch. Was immediately seen to by a staff member who tried to pass me off to one of their many machines. I explained my predicament, and was thankfully directed to a real person to deal with. Very friendly and helpful service by the cashier, and my new bank card arrived 2 days later. Happiness

Baclays its one of the best banks I ever been with. They are always in time with my payments/transfers and the staff from branch always open to help me out. Reviewed on: 9th May 2019

Fair and honest banking

After becoming ill and falling into financial difficulties I had to go through bankruptcy. Barclays where the only bank to allow me to open up a simple account and help me to go forward with my life Reviewed on: 25th April 2019

Goodbye Local Branches

Current account. Does the job. I can pay things in and pay things out. I can set up the usual Direct Debits and Standing Orders. Online works fine. At least this is free unlike their previous packaged bank accounts. Plus Sides - its does work as a current account. Down Sides - good luck trying to find a branch of their bank if you live outside of a BIG city. They have closed so many branches now I have to pay for a bus to reach my branch. If I have a cheque to pay in worth £5 it costs me more in bus fares than the cheque is worth. Cheers Barclays. Reviewed on: 16th April 2019
