Is Barclays selling info to real estate agents?

visited croydon branch of Barclays today to change the address. to my surprise Barclays asked me for private information which I dont think is any of their concern (whether I own the property and whether it is furnished). apparently this is information they use for security reasons next time I visit. well I said I am not providing any sensitive infornation and We can agree on password or any other made up information. the lady said 'this is not how it works'. the message the bank sends to their customers is: either our way or no way! how do I know barclays is not selling these information to real estate agencies? how would I know if they used it for anything else? i think that kind of customer care deserves 0 stars!!! Simple honest banking

Business account under review

I have checked my online banking for business and suddenly I had my account blocked with a minus 500 K in the account.Now I wished I had that overdraft but not the case. I called them and they logged a complain , just chase them and been told the account is under review , without telling me as to why .This was one day before I had to pay all my subcontractors and suppliers plus HMRC I am still waiting as we speak for them to refund me the money and tell me what is going on. If you a have a business that is trading more then a year , with the account submitted and taxes paid I am not sure why Barclays would do that .Our turnover is not really that high either , so trying to get to see how Barclays is supporting SME . After the issue will be sorted I will take my business somewhere else as definitely not worth the headache.I would not recommend ever .Luckily for personal banking I am with a different bank , that literally never did such a thing .I will also get a pre paid card just in case, some idiot decides to review my account. I have to mention that I did call Barclays branch in order to tell them about transactions coming in and the nature of the business , yet they just decide here and now which payment goes trough and which not . Remote Bank

The problem with Barclays is that it is a 'remote' bank, in that it is difficult to find a human being to speak to about money matters. This is particularly so where you need bank references for open other accounts etc. This can take months. Reviewed on: 9th June 2019
