Review of the Barclays, Premier Current Account:

Competent. But at a price.

Been with Barclays since I was a kid. Always had helfpul support from their staff, my most recent was regarding USD. I complained that they don't pay credit interest, and the women looked on line then suggested that I try a different one of the Big 4. I did and now am moving my USD a/c to Lloyds! The Premier a/c used to give free coffees at Cafe Nero. Last year my wife received a lovely tea set - tea pot, cups and a variety of teas. Their black debit card can be exchanged for one with a photo of your choice on it. Otherwise I see little value - even the cash point withdrawals are lmited by the machines rather than the card. barclays interview when moving

My other half got grilled by barclays when we moved from London to Wales because they thought it was strange someone would do that. He had to have an interview with a manager. Reviewed on: 16th February 2016

Customer Service

As usual great customer service from the premier banking team, I recently lost my debit card - I was able to order a new one through the APP, it came in 3 days and the team called me me to check I'd received it. Reviewed on: 1st December 2015

Poor customer care

I have just changed mobile phones. The banking app would not allow me to re-register. I called the helpline. I was quite clear that I wanted to reactivate an existing registration as I was not in a position to create a new registration Guess what my registration was deleted and I have to make a new one but I can't as I don't have their card reader with me Well done Barclays well done ! Perks and app

The perks on offer and the app itself keep me pretty happy. I would like a bit more guidance at times - maybe a handy tips guide for managing my money. Reviewed on: 21st September 2015

Highly recommended account if you can get it

Being on hold too long

I called Barclays while in the USA as my card was blocked from using ATM's. The problem is I was on hold for 8 minutes - on the premier line - the normal line I was on hold for 3 minutes? Reviewed on: 12th May 2015

friendly useful upscale

Good standard of employees, knowledgeable and with attention to detail in the Premier Banking Service. Could be a bit more flexible to accomodate customer timetable. Innovative and customer oriented account. Gives lots of extras and freebies. Reviewed on: 29th April 2015
