Good account but they've upped the price

I switched to the Santander 123 account as it was £2 a month but paid me back £8 in direct debits. I have never had any problems with them but they have just raised the cost of the account to £5 a month leaving me making £3. Not a big gripe but one thing I am not happy with. My experience as a student with Santander.

Among being quite helpful, the Santander 123 Current account offers a free 16-25 railcard, as well as instant transfers to accounts and online banking. Being a student on the go, I found this quite helpful in my day to day needs in terms of travelling and shopping around town. The account may take a while to set up but the staff are quite friendly and helpful and are willing to listen to your needs above their own to make sure their customers are ultimately satisfied! Amazing service.

I'm always losing my card, typical student, and Santander always help to advise me on the best way of keeping my card safe. With my account they also help me to make sure that my security on my account is really protected considering i'm such a liability! Always really friendly on the phone as well. Amazing service. Cash back and 3% up to £20k!!! No other bank offers this.

Not easy to switch

Very good interest rates (which was the main reason I switched). The only room for improvement was that I wanted to transfer direct debts and not my salary from my old account to this new one. I spoke to someone on the phone who said it was all or nothing and that if I wanted direct debits to move only, then I'd have to ring up every company I had direct debts with myself and move them. Best place for your money

The Santander 123 current account is the best place for your money these days. A minimal charge for the account (£5 a month) and in return you get cashback on many household expenses plus interest on your savings which you can keep in there too (3%). There's no better place to keep your money. Reviewed on: 17th January 2016

123 Account

Its nice to get cash back from your big bills, although i need to review it now that the fee has gone up, I wouldn't recommend it for people on low incomes Reviewed on: 15th January 2016
