So good my husband switched!

You could say I’ve grown up with my bank. I joined Santander when it was Abbey National, straight after university and found my savings and investments mature as I made my transition through life. Whether it is in a branch or on the phone, I have always appreciated the skilful ability of Santander employees to address my needs, as a result I have held everything from mortgages to ISAs and bonds with them. Why have I never been tempted with one of the many opportunities to ‘earn £100 if I switch to Bank X’? Apart from the fantastic 3% that I earn on my 123 Current Account, there’s no price that can be put upon the level of friendliness and genuine desire to help when I ring Santander Select for support. Excellent customer service online and in-branch and a real money saver compared to my previous account.

I switched to Santander early in 2014 and from day one I saved money both on my overdraft and with their various cashback incentives. Online baking is smooth and functional and staff in branch are always cheerful and helpful. They offer value combined with great customer service and a willingness to go the extra mile, What more could you want from a bank! Reviewed on: 9th January 2015

Unfortunately the company all round has lead to me instigating leaving, rather than this particular product.

It was almost laughable when they sent me a credit card to consolidate my debts with - and gave a credit limit of £500! I wish that was enough to consolidate my debts! Reviewed on: 7th January 2015

Good account and switching easier than I thought

I switched to the 1I2I3 account after many many years at another bank. Although this is a paying account, the value is pretty good when you consider the service you get and the cash back - happy I moved over Reviewed on: 23rd October 2014

Best Interest rate return in the market.

I think this is the best current account in the UK at the moment as is providing a 3% return on savings plus giving 1%-3% on my usual bills such as phone to gas/ electric. Quite impressed! Reviewed on: 20th October 2014

Best account out there

I thought about switching for a while, and the 123 account is the one I opted for. Yes, there is a monthly fee, but the benefits this account brings are huge. Well worth it. Reviewed on: 16th October 2014

Generous overdraft for student accounts

I have banked with Santander for just over 2 years now. I took out the 1-2-3 Student Current Account as they offered £1,500 0% overdraft and also £50 for singing up. At the time (2012) this was the best deal around. £50 was paid very quickly and my payments from the student loans company are always on time with no problems. The online account management is easy to navigate and has a good layout. All the features are easy to use. The mobile app is basic and simple to use, ideal for when you are on the move, it contains a good feature where you can send individual transactions via email or to your phone contacts. It is very easy to manage all day to day tasks online. Never had any problems with Santander so have not had the need to contact them. They offered a £1500 overdraft which then raises if you decide to stay in education (i.e. masters). Would recommend the 1-2-3 Student Current Account as they offer good sign up bonuses, from instant cash to 4 year free railcards etc... Only con with this account is that the card they provide cannot be used for all online transactions - such as post office withdrawals etc... Reviewed on: 7th October 2014
