Santander 123 Current Account (discontinued) reviews (1229)

Have recommended this to several friends

I have found the Santander 123 account to be an excellent current account. By using the account for all household direct debits such as utility payments the low account fee is easily recouped in cashback, and direct debits and standing orders are easy to set up and reliable. Why the 123 Account, from Santander, is definitely one to have.

5
The 123 account offers 3% interest on credit balances between £3,000 and £20,000, and even though there is a £2 monthly fee, this is more than covered by the cashback that you receive for paying your council tax, utility bills, communication bills (such as Sky, mobile phone contracts or home telephone/broadband contracts) by direct debit. Although the rate is variable, so it could be withdrawn at any time, it does mean that even after tax, this account is paying better than most ISAs out there. Reviewed on: 20th April 2015

A very good series with good rewards

Very good contact services. Very good rewards when using the products and a easy app to manage your money. Reviewed on: 20th April 2015

Excellent Website

My favourite thing about the Santander 123 account is the ability to manage practically all my finances online efficiently, easily and safely. Set up/cancel Direct Debits and Standing Orders, make one off payments, transfer money between accounts etc. can all be done instantly with a few clicks of a mouse. Its a first class online experience. Reviewed on: 20th April 2015

Opening and operating the account is easy

4
The Santander 1-2-3 account is easy to use and very easy to set up. All you need is at least £500 per month going into the account (which could be your wages or just a transfer from another bank) and set up and operate two direct debits from the account. With online banking doing most things are really easy, and if you are stuck you can always phone them for help. You will be charged a £2 fee each month but in return you get a 3% interest rate on up to £20,000 which beats most easy access savings accounts easily. You also get cash back on some types of household bills such as council tax so the £2 fee can be offset but a much larger payment back. I have read reviews that suggest that the service form Santander is bad, but I have not found that. Reviewed on: 20th April 2015

I am extremely impressed with the excellent service offered by Santander through the 123 account.

I have found the 123 account to be a most reliable, excellent and rewarding bank account for the everyday man. It provides a decent reward for a current account and offers perks such as the cashback on the direct debits and a good interest rate. The select service tagged on to the 123 account is also a gold star support service. On the rare occasions that I have to contact Santander, I find the experience streamlined, efficient and painless. I would like to congratulate Santander on their most excellent product! Reviewed on: 20th April 2015

It really is as good as they say it is.

5
The whole idea of the account is that it provides cashback - nothing very new in that you might think, but this is cashback on things you have to buy anyway, so why not get some money for doing it? The best rate is 3 per cent on your phone bills - mobile and landline. You can never get a decent discount from phone companies so this is a real bonus for the Santander account. You have to remember that there is a £2 monthly fee for the account, so make sure that the benefits outweigh this cost - but if you use the account right they definitely will! Painless switch to Santander by a very knowledgeable and helpful member of staff.

I've had several products with Santander over the last few years that I've been pleased with so I decided to switch from the bank I'd been with forever to Santander's 123 current account. This turned out to be a great decision. A very nice, knowledgeable, helpful member of staff sat down with me and explained everything as if she had all the time in the world for me. She took care of everything, and explained what she was doing as she went along. It was painless. The product itself is excellent in that I get cashback on various bills that I pay monthly plus 3% interest on my balance. The £2 per month fee is swallowed up by the income I get from the account and I easily come out on top. When I switched I chose to close (or have Santander close on my behalf) my pre-existing account with another bank and because of this the switch process only took seven days. I'd definitely recommend this product for anyone who wants to make the most of their money. You will need at least £500 per month coming into your account on a regular basis and you will also need two direct debits set up. That's it. Simples! Reviewed on: 26th March 2015

good account but international usage is a nightmare.

Santander charge ridiculous amounts to use their accounts for international transactions.. Then when things fail you can't even get through on the phone from overseas. Then they follow up by sending you a phone number that only works from UK for a few hours of the day when you are probably asleep. Reviewed on: 10th February 2015
