By Miles charge a fixed cost that covers a car while it’s parked. The rest is based on the actual miles driven. Customers can either plug in the matchbox-sized Miles Tracker, or for newer cars, you can connect By Miles directly with your car’s mileometer.

During these difficult days of limited travel, it is reassuring to know that you are not paying high premiums when you are not using your car and when you are able to travel further you can actually cost your insurance based on your journey distance, its a win win deal. Reviewed on: 29th July 2020

Great Insurance - Great App

what can I say about this great little insurance company...its exactly what I have been waiting for. I am an occasional driver as I work 5 days a week and tend only use the car over the weekends. rest of the week it sits on my driveway. So imagine the relief of only having to pay for insurance as you drive! The price per mile is also great as it is lower for experienced drivers who have a good driving record (a definite incentive to drive safe) and also offers you free miles for every recommendation who signs up to this great service. The app is also perfect for keeping tabs on your driving budget as it gives you a breakdown from postcode to postcode of how far you have driven and how much it has cost you. Plys on top of all of the benefits, Drive By Miles also puts a cap on hw much they charge you after a certain number of miles... which means you will never (at least in my case) be higher than the extortionate rates other insurance companies charge even for hardly driving the car. Oh, and final point from me, this isn't a 'Big Brother' type black box which monitors HOW you drive.. its purely and simply, how far you drive and that's it!! WHAT'S NOT TO LOVE! ive used various car insurance companies over approx 30 years, and without a doubt By Miles is the best ive ever been with. The amount of money im saving is really incredible.. I found “By Miles” by chance on a comparison site and was intrigued by the concept of only paying for the miles you drive with regards to car insurance, I’m now half way through my 1st year with “By Miles” and can honestly say so far I cannot fault them! The app is simple but informative, the customer service response when I initially had an issue with the tracking unit was first class, they even sent me a free secure car key wallet to protect me (and them) from my car being stolen! Every year when my renewal is due I find it a real chore obtaining quotes from various car insurance providers just to keep costs similar or potentially cheaper than the previous year, if all goes as well as it has so far “By Miles” could be the first car insurance provider I actually end up renewing and staying with.!.! Why pay for a parked car ? Insurance that gives you the option to save money by walking or cycling instead of using the car, Which I’m turn increases your cardio and reduces your carbon footprint!!
