By Miles charge a fixed cost that covers a car while it’s parked. The rest is based on the actual miles driven. Customers can either plug in the matchbox-sized Miles Tracker, or for newer cars, you can connect By Miles directly with your car’s mileometer.

Perfect for Covid-19

My car has certainly had a huge reduction in its use. The odd long trip recently to keep the battery going, and no way would I be using another persons car given the risks. This policy from By Miles is perfect, I've got it fully covered sitting idle, and I then only have to pay for the miles I do use. Which could be less than predicted. For me personally it was still a very competitive price compared to other Insurance companies that quoted me for similar cover. I also like the App interface and the handy chat feature to help me with any issues. Oh, and they've finally evolved the Policy Number to an easy to remember 3 word tag, much easier than the usual jumble of letters and numbers. Reviewed on: 29th July 2020

Incredibly easy to get set up with their OBD dongle, and it’s amazing to get live updates in app from each journey of the route taken, mileage travelled and cost. Plus I’ve saved over £100 annually vs my other quotes, as I only do about 2k miles a year! Reviewed on: 29th July 2020

Amazing insurance company for low mileage drivers

The customer service is excellent. Staff members are friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. There are several ways to contact By Miles which makes it very convenient. The app runs well and has a good interface. I've not had any problems with payments or issues related to that. I will say though, fortunately, I haven't been in an accident so have not needed to contact By Miles in regards to anything like that so can't comment in that respect.
