Never had a bad experience with Smile The Internet Bank and the packaged bank account for travel insurance is fantastic. I had to use it and there were no problems whatsoever. Reviewed on: 20th January 2018

Current account

This bank offered a great incentive to swap and open an account with it a few years ago. The co-op offered a local branch which was used regularly and always had a friendly counter service. Unfortunately it closed two local banks and now only offers a counter service which is in a main branch over 30 minutes away. However banking online is adequate and easy to use. good customer service, but don't like paying for "benefits" I don't use

The Co-op customer service people are always helpful and seem to genuinely try to solve your issue, rather than just parroting responses from a script. However, the benefits, such as phone insurance, that come with the monthly fee are no use to me. The account comes with a £200 overdraft which is really useful in case an unexpected payment hits which is not covered by the account balance. Reviewed on: 6th January 2018

ETHICAL AND EFFICIENT

EVERYTHING YOU COULD WANT FROM A BANK IN THIS DAY AND AGE- NOT AS MANY HIGH STREET BRANCHES AS SOME BANKS BUT WHO NEEDS THAT THESE DAYS WITH ONLINE BANKING?! Problem Free Banking

I have been with the Co-op for over 20 years and have always found them to be friendly, efficient, and easy to deal with. Initially I used their telephone services and then moved onto internet banking and both were easy to use and reasonably problem free. I have processed day to day transactions as well as more complex ones, and whenever I've needed assistance help has been on hand. If I ever a need to go into branch the service is just as good. Brilliant Customer Service

I cannot recommend this bank enough. I had an experience whereby money was taken from my account when it shouldn't have, this left me overdrawn through no fault of my own. The bank got my money back, and really helped me through what was a very stressful time. They talked me through every step of what they did to get my cash back, and were so kind and helpful.
