My M Plus account has been blocked for the last three days. Have rung them five times no help by rude, unprofessional uneducated staff who does not have a clue about what they are talking about and have been lied to, at times during the conversation have held the phone for over 40 minutes, can't get any money out to buy food
wish to close the account but not able to as the account has been blocked
You ring and speak to staff who cannot do anything as the account has been blocked.
wish I had never heard of Virgin Money Please Please stay well away from this bank as it is really not a bank - opened an internet bank account - cannot operate the account via internet
Had enough - will have to go to a branch to close the accounts hoping that there are no further problems created by Virgin
my request to all is to close their accounts by transferring to other high street banks

Bunch of bankers

Don't offer Internet banking which is essential during a global pandemic. Can only view!! What good is that. Staff rude lacking good manners and courtesy I will be leaving

As others have commented - They lock your money away and will not let you access it - very very shady practice.
To say customer service is shockingly bad would be an understatement. There is NO customer service.
Using the app is hideous and internet banking is impossible to use without using the app at the same time.
Steer clear of Virgin Money!

I have been trying to transfer my money to another account of mine but they block the payment. called numerus times, they promised they ll unlock the payment, nothing happened even the day after. Called again telling them I need the money transfer right away or I am referring to the ombusdman and they hung up. will refer to Ombudsman and all the authorities. AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE!

Can close your account with 2 months notice without explanation

Got a letter saying that they are closing my account in 2 months. I don't believe that I have committed any misconduct but it would be nice to get a reply from the branch manager. Matter has now gone to financial ombudsman

Useless app

I don't get any notifications of transactions till the next day it sends wrong balance alerts and overall its useless really considering moving to another bank as fed up with virgin Never had any problems when it was clydesdale bank

Since Virgin Money has started to send authentication codes to enable access to online banking, their system has basically locked me out. They claim that the non-arrival of the code is the fault of Virgin Mobile. Yet many other banks that I have accounts with work perfectly well - their authentication code whizzes through within a few seconds. Hence it is Virgin Money that has not made the necessary adjustment to allow their customers to receive their code if they also happen to use Virgin Mobile. There are other problems too such as not sending a temporary password when requested by phone, and giving so much automated information when calling that it takes at least 5 minutes to get through to an advisor. Avoid this company if you also happen to have Virgin Mobile

App is great and great switch offer

Free wine who wouldn't want that. The switching process was straightforward and the banking app works great. I've never needed to speak to anyone as I can do everything I need to do on the app.

BANK TAKEOVER

I HAVE BEEN WITH CLYDESDALE BANK 30 YEARS HOWEVER WITH LITTLE OR NO DISCUSSION BANK WAS TAKEN OVER BY VIRGIN MONEY , AS A CUSTOMER FELT LET DOWN.

Website is great as it works along side the app, the security side seems really good as it uses a combination of both app and website. It was really easy to apply for the product

The best branch bank in the UK! The checking account is easy and clear to manage, there are Fintech tools incorporated. The support is easy to reach and efficient to solve any issue!

Great app, great benefits

I’ve only been with Virgin Money for a few months but so far I’m impressed. The initial application was simple and the app is great for getting everything done. The benefits on offer are highly competitive too.

Good, just needs app refining

Good incentive, easy banking. Only recommendation would be to make the app more intuitive, it's not so easy to perform simple things like make a payment transfer.

I watched the Martin Lewis Money Show where it was explained that if I switched to a Virgin current account I would receive a opening account incentive of 15 bottles of wine I searched the internet and found a application link for this offer and followed it through and my account switch was confirmed /accepted. However after 4 weeks with my Virgin account operatingi had not received the wine incentive so I chased it up and was told that I would be sent a voucher for the wine in due course. A few weeks later I chased it up again and was told that I had been set up with a different accout to the one with the opening incentive. I made a formal complaint and was informed yesterday that my complaint was rejected but I would receive£25 compensation for being mis informed when I originally chased this up. I have lost confidence and started to remove my funds and transfer my direct debits etc to another bank

I joined Virgin to get the free wine, most of the bottles were not very good but to be fair there were a couple of excellent wines in there. The app is not very user friendly and the interface is hard to use compared to Nationwide or HSBC for example. Customer service is so-so. all in all, they need to do a lot to improve.

Interest rate not worth the trouble

Trying to phone to resolve blocked access was a nightmare with calls answered with a number of options and then approximately every 20 seconds to be advised "Your call will be answered shortly"
