Darlington asking for the Inns and Outs of a fart

When my wife and I applied for a mortgage via a mortgage broker, Darlington took a long time to make a descision to lend. They were quibbling over a £50 catalogue account that they wanted to be cleared before they would lend. ( Andwe have a joint income of over £100k) We had to remortgage with Darlington a second time , only because our solcitor forgot to register our New Build House in our names by the time the 2 year fixed rate expired. We could not use the whole market at the time becasue of that. Otherwise we would have got a much cheaper rate elsewhere. Reviewed on: 9th April 2025

Okay service

The online site and correspondence has been fine but I do think the rate I pay is a bit high but I agreed it so it is what it is. Hopefully I will get a more competitive rate on renewal. Reviewed on: 9th April 2025

Exceptionally friendly and proactive

I find the staff at Darlington exceptionally friendly and proactive. The are willing to help and show enthusiasm for their jobs. A rare commodity in today's world. I only use phone and online banking services. Reviewed on: 9th April 2025

Darlington Building Society are so easy to work with, they have kept us in the loop throughout our first mortgage process and been amazing with our mortgage.
