Great place for Cash ISAs.

I've been saving with ISA's for over 30 years with Ecology. Interest rates are competitive but what I really like are the unique AGMs and hearing about all the positive environmental activities. Reviewed on: 29th November 2024

Savings for good - slow but steady!

The Ecology Building means savings are invested in positive change- although it’s definitely ‘slow banking’ over things like withdrawals, changing address, paper statements etc, this is a positive thing for me - my savings stay earning interest because I can’t quickly dip into them ! It takes 1-2 days. Customer service on the phone is good - they arranged an end of day Faster Payment when it was flagged for security, within 2hrs for house move. Good interest rates, only improvement is an app which is coming soon! Reviewed on: 29th November 2024

Ethical, and so Supportive !

I love saving with a building society that does specific, practical things for the environment, and for housing (both so badly needed). Ethical - no investments in bombs or fossil fuels! The people who work for it are lovely! When I ring up to ask questions, I always get patient, friendly help and clear answers. Sure, the interest rate offered is modest - but this is outweighed by the peace of mind Ecology Building Society offers its customers. Reviewed on: 10th November 2024

Genuinely Ethical

I first opened an account with Ecology Building Society in the 1990s, and only closed the account because I needed the money, so when I again had some savings I opened a new account a few years ago. I prefer to deposit my savings with a company I am confident will use it wisely. I am convinced the EBS are committed to protecting our precious environment and they would never knowingly invest my money in anything unethical. Reviewed on: 4th November 2024

Get your money to do some good !

I've been with Ecology BS for over a decade; have always been v happy with their customer service and general comms. Although I could maybe be getting a better rate elsewhere, I know the money I've invested with them is doing good work to tackle the nature and climate crisis, investing in projects that make a difference. Everything to like about Ecology Savings

Everything is to like about Ecology, a good ISA with great interest rate. The online services are fine but limited. However they are upgrading the website shortly. It takes a while for credits to show and messages to be received it seems but they are human and not robots. And good humans at that... Reviewed on: 31st October 2024

The place does not appear to be run by robots!

The place does not appear to be run by robots! I like to deal with real people who have commonsense and can answer my questions....my questions dont usually fit into a "box" so a ChatBot cant answer them satisfactorily. i wish to support and encourage this building society in their admirable endeavours. Caring about how m money is used.

I had some money that I was looking to invest long term but I believe environmental degradation, loss of habitat and species diversity and the poor health of our oceans due to human activity are at such a critical point that I did not want my money going into any industry or organisation that contributed to this. I was delighted to find Ecology Bank and to see that they share my values and are open and transparent without “ greenwashing”. While my money is tied up for 180 days the 5% interest rate is extremely competitive. I am aware that this rate may go down following the BoE reduction but I will happily stay invested with this bank in the knowledge that not only am I getting a good rate but, more importantly, my money is being used to support businesses which reflect my values.
