I've always had Endsleigh for my home insurance, ever since I was a student. I find that the whole process is always very easy to do when signing up. I like the fact that they contact you in good time before the policy expires. However, I've never had to claim on the home insurance, so if I had have done, I'm not sure whether I'd still recommend - I don't know how decent they are when you have to claim.

Awful

Terrible service, Endsleigh subcontracted virtually everything they could making it impossible to manage the situation effectively when my car was written off by another driver. Communication was very poor, 16 months later and the accident still isn't...

Took out a policy, all seemed OK, spotted a mistake in first 12 hours after reading thoroughly and got charged £30, then this deemed our policy need to be another £50 a year more, I then spotted the change I was charged for was done incorrectly and guess what, they want another £30 and claim we told them the wrong information first time and second time, I just can't get rid of my £30's quick enough with these fraudsters.

So I bought a new car over Christmas, got a good deal from a new insurer and called Endsleigh yesterday to cancel my previous policy. Well they charged me £75 just to cancel and blamed ME for not letting them quote on a new vehicle (despite comparison websites putting them much more expensive than others). I can understand if I just wanted to switch but I having bought a new car I consider it extortion to keep business rather than allowing customers to make an informed decision. I will never deal with Endsleigh again nor recommend them to anyone I know.

Absolutely awful experience with these guys as my insurers for my mobile phone. Paying £17+ a month for insurance for months and then finally when my phone breaks, they do everything in their power to tell me they dont cover that exact type of fault. When I then find a reasoning why they should cover it, they tell me that because of "how busy they are", they'll have to get someone to call me in 3 days yet someone was speaking to me there and then?! I got so annoyed I asked to cancel my policy and they asked for a cancellation fee! Money grabbing bastards.I'd be paying them for months and never claimed anything back and then due to their awful service I cancel and they charge me!!!! Never use!!!!

Awful, and rip-off merchant money grubbers

Beware of purchasing online. They include a lot of extras you have to pay for, use third party credit agencies, and charge you through the nose to cancel. Certain elements are also non-refundable, which isn't stated when you purchase. So if you're mental enough to choose Endsleigh, do watch out for the small print. And it is small.

When you cancel, they don't end the policy or charges from that date, they end it from the date you can physically call them up and pay them. Even if you no longer own the home or have items to insure in the property. If you're happy to basically sell yourself to Endsleigh, then sign up today!

as a student endsleigh offer affordable insurance which appeals to many a poor 20 something... however, they can be incredibly difficult to actually get hold of when the time comes that you do need to claim! Furthermore, their motives are somewhat questionable, and the fine print is rather bizarre... my boyfriend made a claim with them on his car insurance, and every time he rang them he was put through to other companies who wanted to charge him more money?? In the end, he was left with a second hand car window from a random company, 6 weeks after the claim! But, it did get done... eventually.
