Reliable for all banking services

Brilliant Bank

First Direct are in a class of their own where traditional banking is concerned. The customer service is always faultless and I've been with them since 1996. They would be my clear favourite if Monzo hadn't appeared in 2015. The only reason for the missing star is FD's technical inertia compared to the new fintech banks. Reviewed on: 25th March 2022

Nice way with customers, shame about funding fossil fuels

Have used fd since they started (1988 ?). Generally very good phone service; on line not so great. Biggest issue for me is HSBC (fd's parent company) funding fossil fuel projects. I'm not up to that so thinking of moving to Triodos who are excellent (we bank with Triodos at work). Cheers, J/. Reviewed on: 16th March 2022

Not a great bank Do not use

First Every Time

I switched my bank account to First Direct last year and from my first introduction it has been fantastic. The switch was seamless and the App is really easy to navigate and setting up the account was quick and easy. First Direct - The Best of The Best - Absolutely Faultless!!

I have had a First Direct account since they started, about 30 years ago, and I have never looked back. Before then I had spent 40 years flipping from one bank to another without receiving any degree of good service at all. With First Direct, I found my soulmate - and I've never looked back or looked round since. They simply cannot be bettered, and I would not leave them for all the tea in China. 24-hour a day service, 7 days a week, 52 weeks a year. And a real person to speak to whenever I like.
