About this product

With so many car insurance providers to choose from, finding a new policy can be daunting. We collect Go Girl car insurance reviews to help you make an informed decision when choosing your new provider.

Go Girl is an online insurer that claims to offer a quote for most vehicles, including modified and high value cars. It offers a variety of extras within comprehensive policies, including a free courtesy vehicle, personal accident cover, windscreen cover and more. If the included extras don’t quite meet the mark for your needs, Go Girl offers optional extras that you can add to any policy.

Appalling company, shouldn't be allowed to trade

I took a quote and put a named driver as a full licence for 9 months I double checked the info and bought the policy. When received by email they had named driver as a provisional!!!, I telephoned them (that call cost me £4) and they cancelled the policy as they quoted me over £2k, they then deducted £45 from my refund!!!, I emailed them and they said it was my fault, without any investigation into their quote system. If it was my error then I could understand, still waiting for the complaints procedure! Makes you wonder whether they pick random quotes and change them to generate extra income, worth a thought, will go to the ombudsman if I have to, steer clear of this company. Oh and I got insurance for £1100 so a saving of £900 from elephant wow.... Reviewed on: 2nd August 2016

After Lloyds car insurance being the worse company I have ever had the unfortunate experience of signing with ( they made me pay £200 gave me insurance for 2 months, accidentally cancelled and then required another £200 and loosing my no claims information) GO girl got everything sorted for me in 5 minutes and have been a company as a young female driver I have found cheap and reliable. unprofessional

I have just cancelled my policy with this company they are very unprofessional sending emails saying I owe £390 or that my policy had been cancelled causing stress and leaving me on hold for ages trying to sort it out to then turn round and say sorry we didn't mean to send you that email! They whacked up prices by ridiculous amounts for any small change to the policy and we're just a bad company overall. Reviewed on: 6th July 2016

Amazing customer service

Staff were very helpful and dealt with our claim efficiently and without fuss. Took into account our wishes regarding the repairs to our vehicle. The whole claim has been dealt with most professionally and sensitively in view of the fact our daughter was in the middle of her A levels when she had the accident. Thank you! Worst customer service EVER!

I even begrudge wasting time explaining how poor your customer service was, but basically YOU lost out on £1300 due to your lack of communication skills! Reviewed on: 9th June 2016

Just horrendous

I'd wish I'd done a bit of research about Gogirl before giving them my card details and agreeing to accept the worst customer service known to man. If Gogirl were an animal they'd be a one legged elephant. Reviewed on: 2nd June 2016

UNDERHAND GOGIRL

AVOID THIS COMPANY -My daughter was on our policy as a named provisional driver, In April 2016 she passed her test, normally a reason to celebrate but not for us with this company. My wife rang on 12th April 2016 to inform you that she had passed and asked for a quote to see how much it would be to put my daughter on the insurance now she had passed. She also asked if my daughter could still drive if we were in the car, as she had been doing on her provisional licence. My wife was told it would be illegal for my daughter to drive and was given a quote of £1,403 extra. My wife asked if she could think about it and was told the quote was valid for the next 7 days. In no way shape or form was my wife made aware that the whole policy would be cancelled if we didn't get back to them within the 7 days. If they had she would have phoned back or removed my daughter from the insurance there and then. My daughter was then unable to drive the car and was looking to buy her own. My daughter put a deposit on a car on 16 April2016 which she insured in her own right to start from 20 April 2016 when she collected her car. My wife rang you on Thursday 21 April 2016 to remove our daughter from our policy to find with horror that they had cancelled our full policy and that we had been uninsured for two days. Fortunately the car had been parked on the drive. My wife explained that in no way had it been explained that the policy would be cancelled in this way and asked to speak to a manager as the gentleman could not help her, only requoting that the policy had been cancelled and there was nothing that could be done, My wife was passed on to "Erin" who said the policy had been cancelled because we had not been in touch that they had sent two emails, one threatening cancellation the other confirming cancellation. They also listened to the original phone call but made no comment other than to say if I wanted a transcript it would cost £10. They confirmed that as they were an online service they would not insure us over the phone and left us without insurance. They said an £80 refund had been sent to my wife's account. They have dealt with us most underhandedly and our loyalty in renewing with them was misguided. We have now found we are incurring costs with other insurances because they cancelled our policy. Stitched up and left for dead!

Got insurance out with go girl on my first car after being with a different insurer for a year. Purchased a different car and changed over vehicles over the phone along with other details including informing them that I am no longer a student I am working now and will be using the car to get to work and back. Unfortunately I got into an accident a little over a year ago march 2015, when it came to the claims Go Girl where no were to be seen. I had not received any paper work or emails from them upon signing up for the insurance, which I understand I should have chased up, however they informed me after reporting the accident that I was not entitled to a courtesy car as my vehicle was a write off even thought I had added courtesy car as an extra and I had been paying for it. They also informed me that I was not covered at the time of the accident because I did not have commuting on my policy as the accident occurred whilst I was coming from work even though I had informed them that I was working. Go Girl literally dropped me and my case without an apology what so ever! I had to carry on paying the insurance policy until it ended 5 months later! I lost my job, ended up in a financial mess and suffered injury due to the accident resulting in 7 months of physiotherapy. I was put into such an emotional turmoil by the situation, I ended up seeking help from a different company who took on the case, the case lasted a year and a month of back and fourth and a total of £78000 in hire cars! These were charged to the third party. Looking back at it the claim was difficult and unfortunately like every other incompetent insurance company out there Go Girl took the easy way out! They knew the case would be hard going and did not want to be involved. I tried to make a complaint to the management but my complaint was just dismissed. I will most definitely be taking this higher now that my case is over! Be very weary if you go with this company, do all your homework! If anything I would paying the extra and go with a known legitimate company. Reviewed on: 5th April 2016
