Excellent, efficient, trustworthy and friendly

I've been with GWCU for years, both for savings and loans. Always had an excellent, friendly and helpful experience with them. They are trustworthy, very efficient and go above and beyond to help. Their interest rates in loans are fair and interest on savings is good. I would highly recommend them to friends and family. Reviewed on: 30th May 2025

Very easy to access

Great credit rate

It was when I need help most and a friend told me about GWCU when other creditors rates were very high for but everything about GWCU was just right me, the credit rate and even the instalment payment was perfect ! Reviewed on: 6th August 2021

A lifeline to people without options

My experience of Great Western Credit Union has been nothing but good and they have literally been a lifesaver to me. I first took out a loan with them after finding a new job and the period of unemployment caused several months rent arrears. So that stopped me becoming homeless when my low credit score meant nothing was available elsewhere. Years later in 2019 my chronic fatigue became so bad I had to stop working and then I was hit with fibromyalgia in Jan 2020. It got to the point I needed a mobility scooter to get to the shops comfortably and reliably, and they are nearly £2000 for a cheap no-name Chinese one and twice that for a well known brand. Again, on disability with no credit score worth speaking of, these people saved my life. I believe I can with fair certainty say I wouldn't still be here today without their help to keep me sane and life manageable. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to someone both as a great service in itself and as a much more ethical alternative to the big transnational banks. Reviewed on: 6th August 2021
