A decent basic service

The basic current account is fine for most needs. There is a tiny £2 per month reward, having reduced from £5 originally. The main reason I stay with them is the staff in my local branch. They are helpful, friendly and courteous. Reviewed on: 8th February 2020

Halifax is a very poor bank for customer service

not so good.

not so good. someone owed me money and bank transferred it to me. i’m guessing because they moved away is why they did a charge back on my account and it ended up getting closed . I was not at fault Reviewed on: 15th February 2024

I feel safe with the Halifax

I've had an account with the Halifax since I was a child and since that time they've not been involved with any financial scandal (as far as I know!) and that makes me feel confident in them as a bank. Reviewed on: 15th October 2023

Standard current account

Been with Halifax for 30 years. Seem pretty much average on a par with most other high street banks. Good on-line App but it’s awful to see so many branches closed and closing as there’s nothing as good as a face to face chat with a real person Reviewed on: 11th October 2023

Unsecure account and terrible customer service

50£ left my account through a standing order that I never set up. I have been in contact with them 6 times through the chat and 2 on the phone. Long waiting times (over an hour) and always technical issues. They still have not been able to solve it nor to tell me where the money went. Reviewed on: 20th September 2023
