Avoid these chancers

In short I run a BTL business which obviously has a mortgage liability but runs at a consistently high profit. Hanley rejected my application for a personal mortgage (so completely separate to my Ltd) because of the liability attached to my Ltd, but refused to consider the cash flow that the Ltd generates. They took so long to come to a decision that I am now unable to find an alternative lender and will have to stick with my current provider at a higher rate. This is really basic stuff - if they are getting it so wrong at this level I can only imagine how poorly run the rest of the business is. Avoid at all costs. Reviewed on: 21st June 2024

Excellent, personal service

We have only just recently been approved for our mortgage with the Hanley, but from the start of the mortgage application process we have been pleased with the service. We have dealt with our advisor, Jane, right from the start and she has been friendly and helpful throughout. She helped us to navigate the information we needed to provide to make our application, and was with us all the way. We chose the Hanley for its ethical credentials, and would now also choose them based on their customer focus too. They lead you on asking for upfront fees. I paid then was refused product and it was non refundable . I was told not to worry about fee. As I would get mortgage. Absolutely the worst. My advice go to an independent advisor much better. Avoid th economic at all costs Reviewed on: 16th August 2018

Excellent from start to finish

Having only used banks for mortgages in the past I was really impressed with how friendly and helpful Jane Longmore has been throughout the whole process of taking out my mortgage. Efficient, proffessional and approachable

Jane Longmore was our mortgage advisor. The time and dedication she put into our matter was impressive. She kept us updated throughout, kept our mind at ease and was just a joy to chat things through with. I would definitely recommend her to friends and family looking for mortgage advice. Integrity personified.

Spoke to Jane Longmore at length today about a possible remortgage. Although I was extremely satisfied with the deal being offered, Jane did state that my current provider may be able to offer a better deal, as many mortgage providers offer preferential rates to existing customers. I took Jane's advice and was able to shave 1.6% off my current interest rate, at no extra cost. I cannot praise Jane highly enough for her integrity, honesty and professional manner. Excellent service and a calm, knowledgeable team

Many thanks to Debbie and her team in assisting us with the process of buying our first property. The communication and level of detail were excellent and any questions posed were answered promptly with care and dedication.
