SVR not come down after 3 interest rate cuts. SVR not come down after 3 interest rate cuts. Savings rates have come down. SVR goes up immediately interest rates go up. Gross profiteering imo. Reviewed on: 25th March 2025

Having only used banks for mortgages in the past I was really impressed with how friendly and helpful Jane Longmore has been throughout the whole process of taking out my mortgage. Held my mortgage with HEBS since 2009, won’t change.

I’ve held my mortgage with HEBS since 2009 and won’t move. Whenever I get close to the end of an agreed period, they offer a competitive renewal and then make the process really easy. Any problems and there’s always someone helpful at the end of the telephone, no annoying “automated answering systems” Reviewed on: 8th February 2025

New products but only for new customers

I have a RIO mortgage with the Hanley taken out nearly 5 years ago. I have 2 issues:-1) recently they introduced a new RIO deal with a lower interest rate but specifically prevented me from moving to it --- just for new customers only. I thought this practice was frowned on these days 2) there have been 3 BOE rate reductions recently but the Hanley has not yet reduced its SVR Reviewed on: 7th February 2025

I have a RIO mortgage and Hanley was the only Building Society I could get one from and they have also been extremely helpful and informative if I have ever had to contact them. Wanting to self build a bungalow .

Wanting to self build bungalow in garden of existing house - they well very helpful going though the options. We were in our 70s. We eventually settled on a Retirement Interest only mortgage on existing house as the best option. Reviewed on: 7th February 2025
