Love their App!

I like using HSBC's banking app. They keep adding more and more features to it making it very convenient to use. I haven't needed to step into a branch for ages. Reviewed on: 1st June 2023

Years of service

I opened my bank account with HSBC at the age of 11 and I am still with them today. Excellent level of service Reviewed on: 1st June 2023

Unethical and unhelpful

1
Our branch turned into a 'coffee shop'. You can no longer go into our branch to carry out normal counter transactions. You have to stand in a huge line to ask the staff if they're able to help you. Invariably they can't as I only go into the bank to do things you can't do online e.g. cash foreign cheques. The counter has been replaced by a coffee machine and sofas. I don't go into my bank to sit down, have a coffee and a chat with the staff. I'd like to be able to carry out transactions. Reviewed on: 1st June 2023

Perfect

Left a High Street rival and transferred to HSBC. Smooth changeover and they have been perfect ever since. Highly recommended. Reviewed on: 31st May 2023

Automatic overdraft extension

5
Due to delays in receiving money owed to me, a recent credit card bill would have taken me beyond my already significant agreed overdraft. To enable that and other bills to be paid, the bank automatically extended the facility, and advised they had, so that no payments were 'bounced'. I am a long term customer, and they understand that sometimes I need a bit more flexibility than is already covered. Reviewed on: 31st May 2023

Best bank ever

5
I’ve been with HSBC since I was 16, I’m now 33. I’ve never had any issues. Their telephone and online banking is so easy to use. I love the fact that I can increase my ATM withdrawal limit to £1000 for 24 hours. I got hit with fraud and they helped recover my money. Don’t think il ever change from them Reviewed on: 31st May 2023

Amazing bank

I have been with HSBC for a few years now and we have had issues from tie to time but they do try and get it sorted, They are always trying to stay ahead of the curve but some services need attention but I am sure they will get there Reviewed on: 12th May 2023

Seriously poor bank

1
Un trained colleagues, seriously poor customer service, miss charging and stealth fees. Don't know there own policies! All in all absolutely diabolical company Reviewed on: 11th May 2023

Horribly outdated old fashioned bank

1
This bank is still running with policies and systems from the 1900s. Try and transfer an ISA in, you need to print a form and take it in to a branch (at best you might find an PDF to send, but again, it's clunky) Try and pay in anything in a branch you need to fill in an old fashioned deposit slip Reactivate a dormant account you need to fill in a PDF and submit it (no online processing). It states 2 working days processing but you'll wait weeks, perhaps months (old fashioned clunky process again) You need a tax certificate, you need to apply to have it posted or chat to someone All of the above are done a lot more efficiently by all other "High street" banks Reviewed on: 26th April 2023
