Review of the HSBC, Bank account:

Fair at times.

I have had ups and downs with my bank over the 15+ years I have been with them. I have had nasty hidden charges that I was unaware existed, but I have also have a small amount of compassion from the bank. I have been overdrawn on an unarranged overdraft in the past. A couple of times I have explained my situation to the bank, and they withdrew my charges. I am not entirely happy with the set up of charges of unarranged overdrafts. I have argued before that if the money is not in my bank, and I did not ask for an overdraft, why do you allow companies (direct debit for example) to take the money, then rendering my to an obscene charge of £25 for £10 over! I feel this is just a way for the bank to make money off my unfortunate circumstances and have argued with them about it in the past, begging them to not allow any money extra to be withdrawn at any time as I do not want to get into debt of any kind. On another note, i like the online banking, although the little gadget for the password is an utter pain. I have to take it with me everywhere and it's not very pretty and very easy to lose! I have had trouble trying to get a bank card after i've been travelling abroad - it has taken over a month so far and I still do not have the card. Customer service reps I have found to be hit and miss - some will do what they have said, others may tell me one thing and do another. That is frustrating. Overall my experience with HSBC has been hit and miss. They have shown compassion at times by wiping charges when I am in a tough situation, but charges I found to be misleading and unnecessary. Generally ok, but had a negative experience when getting my mortgage. Was told to sign up for an account with a monthly fee and it would reduce the mortgage payment. That sounded good. Agreed. Made payments. Later had chance to review all the finance while sorting out house and wondered where the discount was. Went in to find out and was told no discount. Complained and was basically told tough, not getting monthly payments refunded, can't prove it was misrepresented. Reviewed on: 2nd April 2025

Life & Health destroyed, TORTURED, driven to SUICIDE..

Life & Health destroyed, TORTURED, driven to SUICIDE & HOMELESSNESS by HSBC BANK Life & Health DESTROYED, driven to SUICIDE & homelessness & left for DEAD by deliberate, dangerous & disturbing, sick campaign of illegality, abuse & torture by HSBC Bank. My life & health have been utterly DESTROYED by a malicious, targeted/calculated campaign of extreme TORTURE, DISCRIMINATION, ILLEGALITY & ABUSE by HSBC & CEO (Colin bell - who was made fully aware of situation, yet chose to WORSEN situation). I suffer from severe health problems with a proven HIGH LINK to Suicide. Despite knowing this for many years, Hsbc went out of their way & BENT OVER BACKWARDS to BREAK THE RULES & cause as much DAMAGE, STRESS & PAIN as possible. This involved MISAPPROPRIATION of my entire life savings & then TORTURING me & my health issues for WEEKS ON END. Bank also manipulated their own complaints process (Beverly Hayton) to ensure I could not raise complaint & would be subject to their sick, LIFE DESTROYING TORTURE GAMES. HSBC & Colin bell (also outgoing/disgraced CEO Noel Quinn) could have ended this at ANY TIME; indeed, they only did so after torturing me & leaving me for dead - & after a social media campaign was mounted & they were threatened with being reported to the Police. HSBC have since admitted that they wouldn't have stolen my life savings, refused to tell me where they were & tortured me for weeks on end "if relations had been better". This is the most horrific experience imaginable - that has changed my life forever - & which I will not rest on until I have received full justice. I am now recovering after a suicide attempt. What kind of a business receives these reviews & doesn't feel need to reply?! HSBC, that's who... Reviewed on: 19th March 2025

Horrifying Experience with HSBC.

Horrifying Experience with HSBC. This is one of the worst banks imaginable; staff are rude, unprofessional, arrogant & smug. My wife had an account with them too & has also been treated horrifically. There is something seriously wrong with this bank & the people who work there. Your money is NOT safe here - I cannot warn anyone strongly enough against opening an account with HSBC Bank anywhere - you will regret it, they are just awful Reviewed on: 19th March 2025
