Cannot access account & stuck in a lockout loop

I've had a savings account for almost a year and as we all know we shouldn't use the same passwords and codes for more than one place or write them down. This means that if you have an account you don't access very often this can be very troublesome. So i needed a reminder of my username because a PC will not remember it when accessing the site, i then needed a password so i requested a reset, trying to use the reset you need your memorable word and it appears that i have remembered it incorrectly so i attempt to reset my memorable word and then bang. The account i can manage online means i have to call them the next day to regain access. I phoned the next morning and waited all day to be called back, they unlocked me and of course i had my username and a password reset link, it then asked me my memorable word which i don't have and when i clicked reset, i'm locked out again and have to get back on the phone but luckily the phone lines were still supposed to be open for another fifteen minutes but i got voicemail. So i will now be on day three tomorrow and all i'm trying to do now is close my account and run a mile. Reviewed on: 4th March 2025
