An absolute godsend

During a pretty vicious storm here in the Highlands we lost part of our roof during the night. It was only in the morning when I left the house that I found the whole roof ridge with one end hanging from the roof and the other in the front garden surrounded by various slates and other stuff. We live quite close to the main road and I was worried that due to the ongoing high winds we were going to lose the rest of the roof and possibly injure a passer by or driver. I needn't have worried.! I knew that LV were my insurers but couldn't find my policy documents or any details but when I spoke to them, they found all my info in seconds.! They asked if I had a roofer I wanted to use or would they get on for me. I decided to use a local chap and all I had to do was give him a ring. He came out and looked at the job, sent photos by email to LV and they phoned him 5 mins later to tell him to carry on with the job. I was absolutely gobsmacked..! They also phoned me a day or two later just to check if we had suffered any water damage to our belongings stored in the loft. I just don't think you can beat that for service. We hear so many horror stories about how difficult insurance companies can be but LV were wonderful. They were calm, re-assuring and got the job done without drama or panic over the cost. LV has in my view been the best home insurance i have ever had, although i have never needed to make a claim, they are always available to take any calls, and the setting up the insurance was so easy! Reviewed on: 7th August 2016

Refused to pay

Refused to pay for water damage caused during severe storms a few years ago - said wear and tear! Used to have all car and home insurance with them but I will never use LV again Reviewed on: 1st August 2016

Does what is needed

We have been with LV many years and have had to make a claim 3 times. Once for a burglary, once for a leak, and once for storm damage. On every occasion the claim was dealt with quickly and efficiently. Wouldn't go with anyone else. Reviewed on: 1st August 2016

We had a leak which was coming in from a neighbouring property. All the tiles and plaster had to be removed in our bathroom. LV arranged for this to be done and a dehumidifier to be installed to dry everything out. Then they arranged for someone to re-plaster, re-tile and redecorate. We couldn't have asked for better service and a hassle free experience in putting things right. Reviewed on: 13th July 2016

We have been with LV for years. When we had a break-in they dealt with our claim quickly, fairly, and were really helpful. We also had a problem with water damage caused by a neighbouring property. They arranged everything that needed to be done with no fuss. Wouldn't go with anyone else. Reviewed on: 6th July 2016

Good for my requirements

Ive been using Liverpool Victoria for my home insurance for the past couple of years. The quote they gave me was cheaper than my previous provider and so far Ive been impressed with the coverage they have provided. Recommended. Reviewed on: 28th March 2016
