They accepted me for a 20 month interest free credit card through snoop app. Also got a nice 20£ voucher for applying through snoop. The app is identical with HSBC app...which is not a bad thing. Had no problems with the PIN, notifications and registering my credit card Reviewed on: 28th November 2024

Bonus coupons unreliable, otherwise ok

3
They send mailouts 4x per year with additional coupons for bonus reward points offers but they often don't track properly so you have to chase them up, which is a pain. They often don't scan properly instore either, both at staffed and self checkouts. Reviewed on: 28th June 2023

Outsourced

Why has M&S outsourced its credit card to heaven knows where - Cairo? What the people who actually live there apparently still call Bombay? Telephone calls are answered with incomprehensible accents, on hideously distorted lines. Reviewed on: 26th June 2023

Avoid M&S Credit Card.

1
I ordered an M&S credit card as there was an offer of 0% interest over 24 months. The card took 10 days to arrive and I enabled it using the telephone facility. So far so good. Next I tried to register for the app and the screen said I was successful. I logged out and later tried to log in again to familiarise myself with navigating the app. It said the password was incorrect despite the fact that it was saved automatically on my apple iPhone device from when I had registered and I had also temporarily written it down on paper. I tried to use the "forgotten password" facility and the instructions said to log in and enter the password first but of course I couldn't do this as my password wasn't accepted. This was a catch 22 situation. I tried again and eventually my account became blocked. I telephoned and got an operator who had very little command of English and who I could barely understand. He asked a number of security questions the details of which I had not yet given them. He told me to insert my card in the electronic device I had requested. I had never made such a request and thus had no device. I’ve subsequently found that these devices can only be used once anyway for one's first login and one then has to use a pin number which will appear at the bottom of the login screen. On reading various reviews I found that this number more often than not doesn't appear. This sounded more like a scammer tying to hack my account. I gave up. I have two other credit cards whose apps work faultlessly. M&S’s card provider needs to address the problems with the app or people will simply not use the card. M&S stores are first class but the credit card app's uselessness will tarnish their reputation. I would recommend Sainsbury's Bank credit card which I have used for several years. Their app is secure and user friendly and the operatorsI have encountered in their call centre are efficient, friendly and speak clear understandable English. My initial reason for obtaining the M&S card was the 2 years 0% interest on balance transfers which was offered. In view of my experience I have tranferred the M&S card balance to my Sainsbury’s card which has cost me money but at least still has two years 0% interest. I wish I’d first read the various online reviews, page after page of which show people have had the same experience as me, before wasting my energy and money on the M&S credit card. I have far better things to do with my time and money. Reviewed on: 21st June 2023

Appalling service

1
My wife and I have had M&S credit cards for many years with no problem Then M&S bank lost a payment and bombarded us with threats via letter, text and email. It took us months to prove they were at fault, which they reluctantly and rudely accepted. And then they did it a second time! We asked Archie Norman, the chair of M&S for help, but the answer was even though the bank used the M&S name, and he was their chairman as well, it was nothing to do with M&S!!! In the end we got rid of our M&S credit cards. But even now we are being pursued by M&S bank ( in reality HSBC one of the most corrupt and fined banks in the world) for 76p interest on the payment they lost!!!! Utterly pathetic. Don't go anywhere near them Reviewed on: 6th June 2023

Decent 0% offer, but not a great online experience

3
Their 0% offer was exceptionally long (at the time), so I was delighted to be accepted for this. But the sheer amount of hoops to jump through to log onto the website, and navigate around, just makes it a pain to work with. I really think with a website more around the Capital One/MBNA style, would make it more appealing and easy to get around! As a result I have just set up a DD, and don't really go on there any more to check statements etc.! Reviewed on: 4th June 2023
