Competitive rates but archaic application process

Opening a new savings account as a new customer felt like a return to the 1980s. Application was via post including a cheque. I received account details via post, but had to phone to request an online sign-in password. Line was busy, so they called me back several hours later. Customer support staff member was nice and helpful, but the whole process was dated and inconvenient in a modern digital world. Reviewed on: 3rd April 2025

Misleading information supplied within covering letters

Although I have been more than happy with all conversations to date with members of the savings team, I do feel the letters sent out (I have experienced this on two separate occasions) sometimes come across to be extremely misleading and rather than being factual, they information supplied is fictitious. One example is when they ask for a review to be submitted on their website, they ask the member to click on the 'How did we do?' section at the top of the page, but there is no such section and this is not the best way to demonstrate efficient customer service. My account was opened in a wrong name. I was therefore given a wrong account number (as this contains 3 letters of Surname) by phone and followed by passbook. They then realised mistake and changed account number but I was not informed and had already arranged a standing order. Reviewed on: 30th September 2024

I suggest more consideration given to use of more robust packaging for postal material as it has lots of damage and tape was used suggesting the lack of stability was known. Luckily the savings payment card was still inside. Reviewed on: 23rd September 2024

The product I had was a Jubilee Regular Savings Account. I was locked into a poor interest rate so stopped paying into mid-term. I note you no longer offer regular savings accounts now that interest rates are higher. Reviewed on: 23rd September 2024
