Brilliant friendly bank

Excellent bank. Friendly welcoming branches. Good facilities. Modern app. Just a few suggestions. Please make an in app chat facility where customers can contact the bank through the app via a chat service. Also please reconsider your fees for using the card outside of the UK and Europe. Newer challenger banks offer free spending abroad and I feel Metro Bank should also have this feature. Overall very happy and pleased with the bank Reviewed on: 22nd May 2018

Poor customer service and incompetance

My experience of banking with Metro Bank is faceless customer service, spending 2 hours in Branch, customer advisors who repeat the same answers and this even escalates up the division directors. It was an absolute nightmare Reviewed on: 1st May 2018

My experience with Metro Bank

Initially account opening was easy personally however my company account was delayed by over a month due to the incompetance of the Branch and head office losing paperwork. The experience got worse when I transfered funds into my partner account and it was frozen for over a week. If you can take this risk and can deal with the faceless poor customer service then good but if you have business to conduct and people and suppliers to pay then can you afford to take the risk. Hassle-free

Absolutely fantastic! You can walk in without making an appointment - unheard of in the UK and leave with your account open and bank card on the same day. Absolutely fantastic service and takes the hassle out of waiting for your account to be set up. Recommended to all our friends and family that come over Reviewed on: 11th February 2018

Don't bother

It took over one and half hours to open an account because I had to go back after I went in to open an account, and there web site states your card is printed on the same day, But I was told it will be sent after five days and the pin some time after that. and they do not what you to have a current account only a cash account, If you don't have a Passport or a photo driving licence, and I had the other forms of ID, that they state and you need to have a credit check done anyway, If you want a Cheque book or to set up a direct debit. But I will tell people "I don't like" to open an account there. Why should I be the only one lied to. I was still waiting to use this account on line but after fourteen days i now can. These idiots have no clue about Deputyship orders or what it means to be in a nursing home due to Alzheimers .. they CLAIM to be people focussed and their branch staff are great but higher up the chain they are ignorant and useless .. they expect the impossible due to their lack of training and intelligence. They need but lack training .. my advice - AVOID METRO BANK LIKE THE PLAGUE Reviewed on: 31st January 2018
