With my previous bank, making transfers on their app was often so difficult it was easier to get to a branch, queue and then complete the transfer via a bank teller. With Metro Bank I can set up a savings account, effect bank transfers and make payments on my phone or iPad. Both use the phone's security features with either my face or my finger. Even lack of attention for a short period of time turns the app off requiring a new sign in. This would be a pain (the password is brutal) but with face recognition it's not so problematic. Having said all of this, on occasion, when I've set up new payments or paid a large sum to a new or old payee the bank sends me a text or an email asking me to call to confirm the payment. So I still feel looked after. And even if all of this is a problem there is an actual physical bank in town. Not super local, but easily accessible. Cannot see myself ever going back to the traditional 'high street' banks. Reviewed on: 13th April 2021

they are always ready to help, either in person on the local branch or over the phone, the customer service is excellent. I had no issues with metro bank at all. I liked the offer of using your debit card in europe and no charge was made. Reviewed on: 13th April 2021

Easy, efficient and open 7 days a week

Originally this was used because of the 7day week opening but it has proven to be very convenient in other ways. During COVID 19 we had to shield for over 12 months and the ease of opening new accounts online and all our banking needs has been excellent. Reviewed on: 12th April 2021

Metro bank makes it easy to open accounts and provide professional service. The staff are friendly and efficient and put people/customers first. I must add they make customers feel welcome.
