Absolutely terrible experience

This has been an absolutely terrible experience characterized by shocking service and a complete lack of operational awareness. We attempted to open a new business account with Mettle and what we encountered was the definition of unacceptable. First, there is no direct contact number, meaning every interaction is forced through the app — which would be fine if the app actually supported basic customer management. It does not. The app clearly states that after you submit your application and answer all questions, you should receive a response within 72 hours. We have been waiting for over a month and a half without any meaningful update. The only interaction we received in this entire period was approximately three weeks ago, when the app requested clarification about the exact nature of our business. We responded immediately. Two days later, we received an email from an agent asking the exact same question, demonstrating that internal communication is either nonexistent or completely ignored. We replied stating that the question had already been answered — and since that moment, there has been absolute silence. This is embarrassing service and reflects a serious failure in customer management. There is no transparency, no accountability, and clearly no understanding of what is happening within your own onboarding process. A bank that claims to support businesses should not be incapable of handling something as basic as an account setup without leaving clients in the dark for weeks. It is obvious at this point that we do not need this bank, and we would strongly caution any business considering Mettle to rethink placing their trust in an institution with such disorganized and apathetic service standards Reviewed on: 19th January 2026
