Took a Mettle account for my self employed work

Took a Mettle account for my self employed work and its brilliant. I can set it to set money aside for Tax, pensions etc. I can do invoices from the App, record expenses as soon as I have the receipt and Mettle does the rest. It even tracks how much Tax and Ni I need to find. Reviewed on: 24th March 2026

From setting up my account to excellent customer service the once or twice I've needed it. For example I had a payment coming from Europe and because I'd not received euros before they double-checked it was genuine. They were 'on it' keeping me safe. I've been with Mettle business bank for a few years now. I love that I can access FreeAgent to do my accounting for free. And to it's free to use the account. It's met most of my business banking needs. Reviewed on: 24th March 2026

Makes business banking straightforward for new business owners, the help line are very responsive and explain things in simple terms, and offering the FreeAgent benefit has been a game changer for running a new business. I feel like Mettle is making my life easier rather than being a necessary and expensive evil. My only gripe would be the restriction on adding a second cardholder for my fellow director. Great value bank account.

Great value bank account. Some good features that integrate well with Freeagent which was free when I took out the account. Gives you good quality bank account with accounting software. Would recommend Reviewed on: 24th March 2026
