Monzo offer a free bank account for under 16s, with controls set by their parent or guardian.

Kids get their own neon card and can see their money in the Monzo app. Parents or Guardians can keep an eye on the account, set spending limits and schedule pocket money.

Monzo Under 16s best option available

Having Monzo for my under 16s was a blessing I didnt realize I had until they started going off on their own and making payments was super easy with supervision as a well . I am also able to easily fund their accounts so they are never stranded . No hidden costs to operating the accounts and they have learnt to save in their pots . Monzo help build confidence with money starting from a young age also parents are not penalised or charged for giving there children independence and valuable skills for life, I can keep track of child's spending put limits on and its gives me peace of mind and my daughter loves it Reviewed on: 6th March 2026
