About this product

Monzo offer a free bank account for under 16s, with controls set by their parent or guardian.

Kids get their own neon card and can see their money in the Monzo app. Parents or Guardians can keep an eye on the account, set spending limits and schedule pocket money.

New to Monzo and very happy.

I recently changed to Monzo and opened my 3 children accounts and it’s gave them their own independence. I can also keep track of their spending and get notified when the accounts run low. It’s also easy to add money to each account. Reviewed on: 6th March 2026

U16s account

I have a monzo account for myself so was happy when they offered a U16 account it's great as you can devide monies into different "pots" which is great for pocket money and savings all in one which give friends and family the choice to transfer money to the child Reviewed on: 6th March 2026

Their account has been fantastic for my 9 year old son to learn about responsibility with money. He has the App on his phone and can monitor and save his own money, with oversight from myself and my wife. Reviewed on: 6th March 2026

Delighted to use under 16s accounts

As a Monzo customer was delighted when they launched the under 16s accounts. Switched my kids from GoHenry to Monzo and best decision ever. They are learning how to save in pots, manage their money and I can send pocket money weekly from one of my pots which is a great way for me to manage this! Reviewed on: 6th March 2026
